I'm sorry, Sir. The elbow wasn't the reason for Cav's falling.

Here he is leaning on Sagan:

Here he starts falling, while Sagan's arm is not out:

Here is Sagan's arm out, but Cav is gone long ago...

Cavendish behaved with commendable restraint, spoke very well but looked like a man who wants to ride tomorrow but knows that the odds are heavily against that happening. I think that's his tour finished, which, with Sagan leaving, will be a tremendous loss to the entertainment value this year.

I think the elbow was more a balancing reflex.

Therefor i think disqualifying Sagan was a bit too much of a punishment. Taking away all the points and time should have been sufficient. But i can see how it's not an easy decision for the jury.

Shouldn't the jury consult a bunch of sprinters to look at the footage?

Cavendish is out with a broken shoulder.
A great shame.
Two top riders gone.
Have to admit, I've looked at the crash footage several times and sometimes I thought it's outrageous conduct by Sagan, other times I thought Sagan just didn't see him, but the more I see it, the more I'm convinced Cav was trying to bike into a space which just wasn't there

Wow!
On paper todays racing was boring with the top 10 classification being Skytrained (pat. pending )
Todays racing was instead all about Lilian Calmejane from Direct Énergie fending off Robert Gesink, despite getting cramp towards the end.
Great cycling from the Frenchman, hope he resists the cash and stays with his Direct team
On a separate note, it's been great watching Imlach and Boardman on ITV4.
They're almost as good as Murray Walker and James Hunt

Really? Boring? Today was never going to be boring. Just the sort of day where everyone with stage winning ambitions would want to be in the breakaway - and so it proved. Groups forming and collapsing, multiple attempts to get away. Great stuff. You've got to look deeper than just the GC race.

Gary and Chris are always good value. Walker and Hunt had the disadvantage of having to talk about the most tedious 'sport' known to man (with the possible exception of golf).

There really is no comparison! The convoy system adopted by formula one, can never happen in cycling! Please God! Fromme is in yellow, but he is not safely in yellow to Paris, and we all know that, we know there can be shocks, surprises and human error, Gerriant Thomas came off the road yesterday, it could have been serious, today's 'hell stage' as footstep so aptly puts it, can make a huger difference, could it blow the GC apart? The polka dot changes daily, there is a real challenge for once for the green, this year looks like being an absolute classic race!

That can never happen with F1!

What a stage!

I'm disappointed for Barguil and Bardet.
