The University of Notre Dame’s Faculty Senate passed a controversial resolution urging the school’s president to declare the university a sanctuary campus and refuse cooperation with ICE.

The subsequent list of provisions calls for increased resources for illegal immigrant students, including an on-campus office where they can have access to legal counsel, as well as a commitment to continue admitting such students regardless of whether President Trump terminates or curtails the DACA program.

The resolution employs the school’s Catholic identity to persuade ND President Rev. John Jenkins, urging him to consider the “Gospel values that recognize the needs of the poor, marginalized, and disadvantaged in society.”

Last I looked, it cost around $40,000 a year to attend Notre Dame. I'm sure the place is just overrun with "poor, marginalized, and disadvantaged" illegal immigrant students.

So far, President Jenkins has not caved in to this latest round of snowflake bullshit. We'll see...

The Mail on Sunday reports that NHS doctors have been told not to call pregnant women "mothers-to-be" because it might offend transgender people.
Official guidelines issued by the British Medical Association to its 160,000 members, says mothers-to-be should be referred to as ‘pregnant people’ instead.

The paper describes the guidelines from the British Medical Association as "astonishing" and "ludicrously politically correct"

Umm this is a trend other institutions are doing. The Ivy league seems to have taken the lead on this. Plus add to the fact that Notre Dame is a Catholic institution and even though their numbers have dropped significantly in recent years 52% of latinos identify as Catholic. Don't leave out the fact the leader of that church is latino an d last but not least close to 40% of self identified US Catholics are latino, you think the church may have an interest in accomidating those demands?

Last night by nephew was threatened to be "Split" by a gang of Nigerian youths. He reported to the Police. They were more interested that he was a racist, which he's not. I ask my politically correct friends even black people commit crime - accept?

The problem with the police, as seen in recent months with very a severe crime is that they often refuse to do anything for fear of being called racist. That is why so many people in the north of England were able to get away with horrific crimes for so long. I would rather be called a racist and stop these scumbags from committing crimes that screw up kids for life than do nothing.

The other issue in regards to racism is that it seems to only go one way for the media. A gang of white youths attack a non white youth and its a racist attack. However when the roles are reversed its usually labelled an assault.

Every race and every religion has people in it that are racist. Its been going on for centuries and its unlikely ever to stop. Educating people is often what we are told will change things. However clearly after centuries of educating people if its still ongoing then education is not the key. We have to accept that some people will be racist and we have to accept that it will never change.

Put yourself in the shoes of the police. One youth tells them the story that several other youths have threatened him. What next?

If they pursue this it will probably aggravate the situation but it's highly unlikely that they can prove anything and therefore really do anything. Moreover, it would end up as an unsolved crime in their crime statistics.

In the 1970s they might have said "toughen up lad!", but that does not cut it any more...
