Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes were one of the early purveyors of the Gamble/Huff Philadelphia Sound that became so popular in the early and mid '70's. Teddy Pendergrass was their lead singer and they really had some great songs. They also has Sharon Paige sing with Teddy on a couple of solid gold soul 70's hits.

Since I seem to be stuck in the 70's.

How about Donna Summer? I'm not a huge fan of the disco queen but one song always made me appreciate the lovely Ms. Summers. Her moaning..er I mean singing in her early hit "Love to Love You Baby" always managed to get my attention.

Anyway, I didn't want too but K D Lang was being played in the car today, I always knew her voice was exceptional, just didn't realize how good until this afternoon
