I would like to start a thread about department store newspaper inserts. These were magazine-like ad booklets distributed in their own special section, included every Sunday with metropolitan newspapers, including my local paper, the Cincinnati Enquirer. Each of these inserts featured some pages of women in lingerie; some consisted ENTIRELY of women in lingerie, up to 20-30 pages' worth!

I first noticed this form of advertising in 1989, when I was about to begin seventh grade. Immediately, the images contained in these newspaper inserts became one of the very few things that enabled me to survive the brutal and arrogant culture of middle school. Even into high school, it helped whenever I wasn't seeing anyone female. Although I graduated from high school in 1995, I continued to collect these inserts through 1999, since the '90s had highly erotic advertising.

I would like to know if anyone out there still has even some, or possibly all, of their collections from the years 1989-1995. These inserts include pictures of women modeling lingerie for the following stores: Dillard's; Elder-Beerman; JCPenney; Kmart; Kohl's; McAlpin's; Parisian; Sears; Target; and Lazarus (which was absorbed into Macy's by approximately 2004).

Perhaps the moderators could grant an exception and allow images through 1999, since that appears to have been done with the similar "Lingerie Catalog Scans" thread. [By the way, I made it through ALL 230+ PAGES of that particular thread. When I figure out how to give thank-yous to Corsair, Gorbachev, The Wolf Man, and all of the other cool people on VEF, I will do so at that time.]

It doesn't matter how you get your appetite, as long as you eat at home.

I have quite a large number of scans that include some from the period 1989 to 1995. My collection of store newspaper ads goes back to about 1976 or 1977 and also all the way up to the present. Here is a pic from an early 1990's Lazarus store ad showing showing a lovely blonde in a beige Olga bra and Olga classic Secret Hug hiphugger panties. She also appeared in this ad in a blue dress with brass butoons -- however, i only saved the bra and panty pic. If you're interested in other pics that fall outside the 1989-1995 range let me know.

I'd guess that a fair amount of what appears in the vintage catalog thread originally appeared in newspaper inserts. So I don't think we necessarily need to separate them via the creation of a new thread. On the other hand, anything that increases the flow of these images onto VEF is fine by me! I certainly remember the Sunday inserts of old with great fondness. Target, Kohl's and Macy's (among other stores) still use models to advertise lingerie on a semi-regular basis, but the glory days are far behind us.

Let me start by saying I just found this thread and I am in love . I used to love the jcpenney big catalogs when I was a kid. But there is one model in particular I can't get my mind off of. Somebody please help me find more or even a name would be awesome
