I don't get an error, but I don't get the full sized image displayed on screen at p&h.
I can see the full image only if I copy the image-url and paste it into the adress bar or if I dl it. That's what I get, when clicking at the image. 1.275px × 1.754px (scaled down to 1.140px × 1.568px): https://pimpandhost.com/image/101472002?size=original Full size on screen 1.275px × 1.754px: https://ist5-1.filesor.com/pimpandho...NS%20W8132.jpg

Pimp & Host, an unusual quirk
Hi there deezer!
That's normal behaviour for Pimp & Host, an unusual quirk you don't see at most other image hosts. When you first land there from clicking on a thumbnail you are presented with a scaled image, effectively a very large thumbnail. Only by clicking this image (a magnifying glass will appear when hovering over it) do you bring up the full sized original. At most other image hosts clicking a thumb leads to the full size image, which may be scaled to fit the screen but with its properties not actually changed. I often wonder how many people get caught out by this quirk & end up with the slightly smaller "second thumb" rather than the full sized original that's one more click away. Hope this is of use! |

Hi Polo,
I know that, but actually there are three sizes! When I land at p&h, then I get this size, the "large thumbnail": 750px × 1.032px https://pimpandhost.com/image/101472002 Clicking on it I get the scaled down image: 1.140px × 1.568px Only if I dl it or if I c/p the image url into the adress bar I can see the real full size image: 1.275px × 1.754px

Curiouser & Curiouser
Hi there deezer!
"but actually there are three sizes!" Well that is odd! I've just tried again & I definitely only get the "large thumbnail" (750x1032) & once it's clicked on the original. Just right clicking & saving the clicked on image as normal saves the full sized (1275x1754) to my folder. Curious! |

https://ist5-1.filesor.com/pimpandho...%20W8132_l.jpg When I normal click you get redirected to https://pimpandhost.com/image/101472002?size=original . When I right click here "View Image" you get the original size 1.275px × 1.754px: https://ist5-1.filesor.com/pimpandho...NS%20W8132.jpg P&H puts every image that is wider than 750px on a second page. To get to the second page click on the image or append ?size=original to the URL. I never get 1.140px × 1.568. They could use css to show you an image that best matches your screen, though I doubt they do this. What is URL of the 1.140px × 1.568px image? I will try later on 4K display, currently I am on FullHD (1920x1080). Last edited by halvar; December 22nd, 2018 at 12:57 PM.. |

Okay, I think I might know what's going on.
I see the dimensions deezer mentions, 1140x1568, but only if I right click on the enlarged (original) & select "View Image Info" (in Firefox). That tells me the image dimensions are "1,275px x 1,754px (scaled to 1,140px x 1,568px)". The scaled refers only to how it is fitted to the browser view, not actual changes to the properties of the saved image. The image actually saves as the correct 1275x1754, you can check it once downloaded. Is that what you're seeing deezer? If not, I'm out of ideas. |

Thanks halvar.
I never used the "View Image", I got the info from "Grafik-Info anzeigen" (German), "Show Grafik-info" (don't know what exact term is used in English). I'm also at a 1920x1080 display. Now using the "View Image" I get a forth size 750px × 1.032px (scaled to 669px × 921px) :eek This scaled size is exactly what can be shown at one page in the browser. 750x 1023 is too large. When I click on it, I get the 750x1023 image. The URL of the 1.140px × 1.568px image is the same then the 1275x1745 image. It appears, when I left click at the image here https://pimpandhost.com/image/101472002 it get scaled down, but don't open the full size in the browser. I then can view the full size in the browser, if I use "view image" like you did. If I dl the image I get the unscaled pic (1275x1745). So the difference is just, how I see the image in the browser. It's not really a problem, TBH. Here is, what firefox gives me back in the "Show Grafik-Info". The image url is the same for the scaled and the unscaled images. So it's maybe just like my browser works? Edit: Quote:

Did a refresh of Firefox to get rid of that hideous face-slapping triptych from Pixhost, but to no avail. Using ad blocker, but seems to be of no use.
