John Wick Chapter 2 2017
This is very much a follow-on from the first John Wick movie and stars Keanu Reeves. It is almost non-stop action with a well done car sequence at the beginning, followed by plenty of fighting and shooting in different locations. Reeves seems to have an endless supply of Glocks in his back pocket, plus an assault rifle and pump action shotgun. I didn't count how many opponents he killed, but it was into many dozens and he survives all manner of injuries. Certainly not a bad film and very violent in a few parts. The endless shooting and a few explosions will certainly appeal to many teens but might be a bit tiresome to an older audience. Nevertheless it should hold your attention and ends with everything set up for a sequel. Interesting soundtrack by Tyler Bates! Worth a watch. I'd say 6/10 Last edited by CARLTON BROWN; January 8th, 2018 at 03:41 PM.. |

I saw Alien Covenant yesterday. It is actually a sequel to the film Prometheus. It is the second of a trilogy of movies that are to be prequels to the very first Alien movie that came out in 1978. It was fairly good. The main point of this film is that finally after all these years since the very first Alien movie came out is that the viewer finally sees the origin of the original Alien. I had always wondered if this was a natural creature or if it was some monstrosity created in an alien laboratory. The viewer finally learns this. I can't wait for the final movie which may finally end the series.

If Thomas Jane has ever given a poor acting performance , I've yet to find it . Certainly doesn't occur
Here ,
He plays a man far more at ease in the country working the land. Than in the city. Where his wife insists either they , or she and his son are going to be. Course she can't be dissuaded let alone reasoned with. Lord knows he tries. Which leaves him with only one option. It`s what happens after that option is taken that soon makes him question a lot more than whether he made a mistake .

The Light Between Oceans (2016) - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Li...n_Oceans_(film) Story about a couple who find a baby in a rowboat. I thought it was very good, surprised to see it only get a 59% on rotten tomatoes. Didn't make much money at the box office either. I'd give it 4 of 5 stars. I did recognize Bryan Brown from Breaker Morant (1980) but I did not recognize Jack Thompson from the same film and had to read the credits to see who he played. Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander were very good in their roles.
Would have been better if they showed some tits. |

A Walk amongst the Tombstombs (2014)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0365907/ Liam Neeson is the ex copt turned Private Eye hired by a drug dealer to track down the people that murders his wife. Powerful stuff as it turns out a couple of sick psychotics have been on a long murder spree. Things to learn If you didn't already know this then if you ever catch a sadistic killer shoot the bastard in the head first before you go walking around their dark house https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0JjRoh13vzY

Am especially impressed with flenix.net as finding it a free streaming dream
Clicked on This
Without knowing a thing about the story and if you`re able to do the same I highly recommend it. Not that I suppose it`d spoil the fun aspect of the delightful horror movie much if you knew the plot beforehand.

Score: A Film Music Documentary (2017)
An hour and a half film that I wish had been longer, I enjoyed it that much. I'm not a music score aficionado, so I learned a lot – there was so much covered in that small amount of time. Many composers, some directors, some studio musicians, some conductors, Leonard Maltin, (and a psychologist!) were interviewed. Among the topics covered were composers who changed the way movie scores were done, changes in equipment, weird and/or rare instruments used, physiological changes in listeners, recording and editing the music, that movie composers are the last group to use large symphonic orchestras to record new music, and just how difficult it is for them to do what they do. The DVD that I watched had a couple of extras on it – the 30 minute interview that was done with James Cameron (where he mentioned his relationship with James Horner, among many other things); and a 7 minute session with Bear McCreary, where he talked about his use of a hurdy-gurdy (which instrument I had never seen before – I ended up checking online to find out more and came up with some good stuff.) Those two made me wish that there had been more complete interviews included. IMDB Entry Official Trailer ... |

Wild Men (2017)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4065214/ If there's no new shark films about then I'm on the Bigfoot hunt The pompous genius behind a fairly successful reality show about Squatch hunters decides to film an entire season in one area alone the Adirondack mountains in New York State. It's a great spoof on all the daft things Bigfoot trackers do along with the pissed off crew playing practical jokes on the self important presenter however things go pear shaped when they discover there really is something big in the woods https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PlAvey4d2Ig
