Elvis16/03/14's links at FF seem to be fine excepting they are password protected, I've tried various passes from VEF and a few guesses as well but no luck in opening up the links at FF, do any of you know what pass he uses/used? or is this a more recent occurrence because it also seems to me that Elvis16/03/14 has gone and done a flit from VEF "Last Activity: 03-15-2014 11:58 PM"?

A few months ago I downloaded rar files of the Roy Stuart Glimpses videos from links in posts on VEF, but the posts have since completely disappeared.

I opened some, but not most of the rar files, using a short and simple password that I've forgotten. The password was the same for all of them.

File names are RSG01, RSG02, etc to 06, then RSG 07 to 10.

These are great videos I'd be happy to share if i can unrar them - does anyone have a note of the missing password?

Other options of getting password are:
1. Go to Google and search for "vintage-erotica-forum.com yourfile.rar" or "yourfile.rar Password" or "yourfile.rar PW" and so on.
2. There was a posted list of passwords used in archives, somewhere.
3. Hack archive password with programs. Software that uses your GPU (videocart) is better than one that uses CPU. It is possible to crack rar-archive by automaticaly trying every possible password in acceptable period of time even with non-modern GPU. But ofcourse using modern hardware will give you more comfortable conditions. Anyway this is a high load task so watch for the temperature of you PC! Another way is to use dictionary attack when you have program, archive object and pasword list. This is a good start for this forum.

Question: I made a list of used passwords. Can I post it here?

Whatever you do, DO NOT install a programme called 'rarpasswordunlocker'.

Encouraged by a post elsewhere I did this and have spent much of today undoing the damage it inflicted. It installed malware and hijacked both Firefox and Chrome by turning them into Yahoo search pages. Windows restore - even going back several weeks - didn't work at all. In the end I had to reinstall both Firefox and Chrome, in the process losing all my settings and bookmarks. Malwarebytes also found and removed various other malware that I think was new and installed by the same programme.

So - avoid 'rarpasswordunlocker' like the plague!

Incidentally - it was a dud programme for its alleged purpose - it didn't even work when I installed it. But I finally guessed (or subconciously remembered) the password and have now managed to open all the Glimpses videos!

I have an old application for extracting passworded archives, to which I lost the PW: https://tn123.org/UnRarIt/
It's a couple of years old and isn't supported anymore (I guess), but works just fine. It does not "crack" an archive, but uses a list of passwords instead.
I usually add any new PW to that list, which is only a txt-file, as soon as I come across any new passworded archives. So if I need to, I can just load it into Unrarit.

OK my short term memory is getting a bit shot. I seem to have downloaded a 3 part rar file called DJ-FSoG2Z.part1 and obviously parts 2,3

I only got it (or the last part yesterday) but cannot remember where from, now the password. I have tried looking at my thanked posts, no use. I have tried all the passwords I have previously used, no use. I have tried a google search for the filename, no use, and a VEF search, no use.

Help. Does anyone recognise the file names ?
