Football, when I was a kid, was without doubt a 'working-man's sport' to be enjoyed by the masses ......... now - no way! I heard the other day that Manchester United charged Leeds United supporters 60 quid at the last cup game! Whether that is true, maybe some Leeds or Man U fan could let us know? By the way ......... you had more chance on the AVON than the TRENT .... well, unless you want to hook a pram, bottle or used condom! Thanks for your views. |

Welcome Guvn00rr! Thanks for your comments. Think QPR could do with your support now Guvn00r...... they not doing so well at moment. Funny that, Loftus Road is one of the few London grounds I have never been to. Never been to a sporting event, as such, in USA so can't really comment on the atmosphere, etc. Is your missus a 'converted Rangers fan now?' Thanks for your kind comments on the thread ..... only did it for a laugh really, but now I love reading all the comments and moans etc. Keep in touch! |

I followed QPR myself in the days of Stan Bowles and Gerry Francis and I had an old umbro shirt circa 1974/75 before they went to adidas.
Around 1979/80 I wrote to Crewe Alexandra asking for some autographs of the team. I felt sorry for them as they had applied for re-election for about 10 years in a row (along with Rochdale and Halifax) Anyway I got a sheet of Crewe letterhead paper in the post with the teams autographs. Amongst the signatures was Jimmy Greenhoff (post Man U) and Bruce Grobelaar (pre Liverpool). Now days with the missus being Brazilian I have shirts from Cruzeiro, Ipatinga, Guarani Divinopolis etc Last edited by eelcat; January 19th, 2010 at 10:36 AM.. |

If you think life is bad or unfair then try being a Pompey fan!
Today the High Court kicked us in the teeth over £7.5M.....at the same time West Ham have new owners who've inherited a £100m debt, Manc Utd are around £700m down and yet we're the ones in danger of going into administration......talk about double f*cking standards......but hey we're not a trendy or loved club eh? |

I don't know who's to blame the ref or linesman. I've noticed the quality of linesmen has diminished greatly recently. I think they should all go back to school and be taught the rules of offside and have it beaten into them.
