I much prefer shaved or light landing strip. at times I like to imagine what it was like in the days of bush. But then there are times I see a big old bush and I feel sick, just looks dirty and gross. Thankfully my girlfriend shares my taste! Too each own if your jungle bush lover thats cool. But I do resent fans of bush call us shaved lovers pedofiles and crap like that.

No, I personally wouldn't call it paedophilic. Asexual definitely. In any event, I'd much rather have a girl shave it clean off if she does insist, rather than add the insult of a silly Fuhrer mustache to the injury of shaving in the first place.

As for dirty and gross, well it depends on the woman. I have been lucky enough to have always slept with women who were sticklers for personal hygiene and kept everything in perfect order down there. As for porn, I don't care for attaching jpegs in a discussion thread (I still don't understand why there are so many jpeg threads in the discussion forum), but how would anyone call the bushes of say Stacy Donovan or Candie Evens gross? Another favourite example of "trimmed and nice" would be any of the models in the early 80s Electric Blue magazines. It always struck me how they invariably had the yummiest bushes.

A woman's body is like a garden. Its natural beauty can be enhanced by artifice and it's nice to have it clean, trimmed and orderly; at the same time you don't want it too geometric or artificial looking either. It's the same for makeup or perfume; a little goes a long way, but too much is just repulsive.

Anyway, as far as silly modern fashions go, shaving is the most harmless one. Hair can grow back and no harm done. If only the same could be said for ink under the skin, or for big whopping metallic bolts in tongues or navels, or (shudder) plastic boobs.

I've tried not to make the generalization concerning shaved lovers being pedophiles. It's easy to see how it started, though. In the 90s when the first real amount of shaved women first appeared (as a regular thing as opposed to a few shaving fetish scenes), they were always women who were playing teen girls. It was an easy, lazy porn shortcut: A woman with no pubes = "young girl". Since so many magazines (and later, websites) featured "young" women, soon every woman in the business who had even the slightest chance of doing a "young" film or pictorial turned up shaved.

Fifteen years later, even "MILF" and "grannies" (grannies, for Pete's sake!) were shaved. The industry had forgotten why the fad had started, and just went shaved across the board (and having Playboy decide that it was the "in" thing didn't help).

Now, although pubes are starting to come back, there's an entire generation of kids whose first exposure to porn consisted of nothing but shaved women. If someone (and God forbid it's a stand-up comedian) sees a pic of a woman with pubes, it's called "gross". They say the woman looks like an "animal". Nooooo... she looks like an adult human. Because even though it isn't only pedophiles who love shaved women, there's one simple fact: The only time you see a female who is naturally bald is when she's a very young girl. Bald vagina = prepubescent.

I've come to the realization that pubic hair is the sole constant indicator of post-pubescence across the human spectrum. It's the one thing that grown-ups have, regardless of age, profession, or gender. And as such, everyone should have it, even if they trim the edges, mow it, comb it, or groom it in some other way to keep it "neat." Shaving it, or worse, electrolysizing it out of existence, makes you look unnatural, or even like a child.

Celebrities cursing its existence doesn't help, either. Sarah Michelle Gellar, bite your tongue!

I like a woman to have well groomed hair on her head. The bedraggled look just doesn't cut it for me.

I don't think there's any conflict in that I appreciate it when she has taken similar care of her hair down under, and I certainly don't perceive my appreciation of downstairs grooming (including fully shaved) as being in any sense paedophilic.

I like hairy armpits and had a girlfriend grow them once.... It didn't last long though, I think she became too self-conscious.

Hairy legs, on the other hand, are a bit extreme for me. It depends on how hairy.

After all, arguments usually used for shaving one's armpits are the same that the one that are used for bush: hygiene, dirtiness, aesthetics... And more interestingly, arguments usually used AGAINST shaving one's armpits are also the same one can use for bush: naturalness, false hygiene considerations and so on (just scroll above posts and replace "bush" by "armpits")...

BUT I'me ready to bet that most people who complain about the good old days of natural bushes are not so enthusiastic about natural armpits.

Indeed this is a little strange, not only because arguments against and for are the same, but also because natural armpits disappeared only a few years before natural bushes: hairy underarms were the norm (at least in Europe) during the seventies and most of the eighties, whereas the transition between natural and shaved bush is somewhere during the nineties... (in the US both probably disappeared half a decade earlier than in Europe.)

Are we conditioned to like women as they were when we reach our sexual maturity? A kind of "perfect icon"?
