As promised in an earlier post here are a few pics from my first holiday a couple of weeks ago.
apologies for taking so long. We stayed in Dunhill Cottage Which is located in the tiny Scottish hamlet of Browhouses, less than 4 miles (6 km) from Gretna and Gretna Green. The cottage overlooks the Solway Firth. We went there for my brothers wedding at Anvil House in Gretna Green. While there we visited the famous Blacksmiths shop and museum.

Dragged my arse over to Swansea today
The Missus isn't pleased. I've done nothing all week so now I'm working the weekend. Hey, but that's me.
This is a view of Swansea taken from a vantage point in Birchgrove. The light grey tower at the centre is the Driver & Vehicle Licensing Agency. Next time you get three points for speeding, don't blame yourself, it's their fault. Away from Swansea in the Afan Valley is PONTRHYDYFEN. Birthplace of RICHARD BURTON. And where IVOR EMMANUEL (pictured here with Stanley Baker) grew up when his family moved from nearby Margam.

Well, went downtown to the historic district here in St. Augustine today to get a haircut. The barbershop I went to is 90 degrees to the right of this, the city hall and the Lightner Museum, (amazing place), originally the Alcazar Hotel, built by Henry Flagler...
Which is 90 degrees to the right of this, the Casa Monica Hotel.. Which is 90 degrees to the right of this, Flagler College, originally the Ponce de Leon Hotel... |

Friday's Tour
Spent my day working on the west coast in, and north of, Cardigan.
The poor weather this summer coupled with economic woes really spoiled the tourist season for many businesses. This is Llanarth. New Quay. Plwmp. Cardigan town centre.

Monday 12th September
Haverfordwest and surrounding area today.
This is the seaside village of Broad Haven. It was very windy so I didn't see many deckchairs. Haverfordwest, the administrative centre for Pembrokeshire. The quay is the only hint that this was once a thriving sea port. The castle is a ruin partially destroyed with gunpowder. Oliver Cromwell ordered it put beyond use after the civil war. See the fish ladder running up the centre of the weir?
