SolveigMM Video Splitter is just a Pre-Edit Tool. For example: you can cut out the un-wanted segment(s) from a video in Frame Accurate Mode, also you can change the scenes order...etc. And if the video has got more than one audio track, even with a subtitle, this tool can DO IT in one time easily. No Encode, Fast as Hell. What I use is SolveigMM Video Splitter Business Edition, it's awesome!
And for cutted (such as MV) or remuxed DVD in VOB/MPG container, this kind of work would be done by TMPGEnc MPEG Editor 2, also Frame Accurate, No Encode, Fast as Hell! I usually use TMPGEnc MPEG Editor 2 remuxing DVD to a single VOB file with multi-audio tracks, and this VOB can use external subtitles such as a SRT. I think the DVD-R is too FAT with those menus and index files... Last edited by shai2emma; March 28th, 2016 at 12:04 PM.. |

If you reply to any post you get an empty box to reply in (there's one at the bottom of this page). At the top of the box are various symbols (more if you click on 'go advanced', but this symbol appears even in the basic quick reply box):
This is the 'insert link' symbol. Highlight the word(s) in your post you want to lead to the link. Now click on the symbol. You will see a box, with 'Please enter the URL of your link' above it. Copy/paste the link you want to include into the box (ignore the http:// you will see in the box when it opens). Hey presto - you've created a hyperlink. Test it in a preview of the post - if it works, make your post. Just one warning - sometimes links in posts and on websites are shown in abbreviated form. If you copy/paste these they won't create a working hyperlink. Open the original abbreviated link and copy the full link from the top of your browser. This all sounds more complicated than it really is. Try it a few times and you'll see. I'm still grateful to Ulitka, the VEF member who explained this to me a few years ago - even though he's no longer around at VEF!

Depends what you want to play it on. Nearly all systems play MP4's and the latest will play mkv's, that is for TV viewing or through most DVD players if using a USB stick, which is quite handy.

i've checked (and used) several tools to create movie preview images so far (Scenegrabber and Video Thumbnails Maker). While Scenegrabber is already a very fast and powerful tool, I'm still not happy with the output result.
I'm looking for a tool which allows to define a layout fixed in total size (f.e. 1920 x 1080) and the thumbnail grid (f.e. 4 colums x 3 rows) should dynamically resize to a "best fit". All tools i know about just give the option to define the thumbnail size (f.e. 320 x 200) and the overall image size depends on the chosen grid and the original resolution of the movie clip. such a setup sadly leads to different image sizes for different movie resolutions. so, if anyone knows about a really good thumbnail creator which offers more powerful layout options, please let me know (it mustn't be freeware). before i forget - the tool i'm looking for must have: - batch function - layout text with ability to fill placeholders like [filename] [filesize] [videocodec] etc - choose fonts and colors - choose alignment for layout text - choose background color - choose default output dir - NO distributor watermark(!) - more than just one capture engine (a single engine can never handle all different video codecs) i know, i ask for much. but beside the desired image size, Scenegrabber has already everything. addendum: optionally it would be nice if the filename replacement just adds the filename, and not the filetype suffix - and the option to align the timecode left/center/right below(!) each thumbnail. addendum 2: for windows please
