I don't know about a pubic hair ever gracing the pages of Playboy again, but then again: who cares? At least we connoisseurs of the way things are intended to be have this site to enjoy!

While reading this thread I was thinking, maybe another reason for the shaving trend is better visibility: when porn got more and more explicit, it was just easier to "see it all" when the girl was shaved. Just a thought. Ofcourse today with megapixels and whatnot that's not needed anymore, so hopefully we'll see more girls with natural pussies in mainstream porn again. |

I grew up watching 90's porn with women like Asia Carrera, PJ Sparxx and Chasey Lain. That's how a woman should look. To me, the whole point of seeing a woman naked is to see her bush. Completely shaven is way too little, 70's bush way too much.

If by "too much" you mean "the most awesome thing ever", then yes.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I seem to be seeing signs that things are turning around. For one thing, whenever you see a woman completely naked in a mainstream Hollywood film (which isn't an everyday occurrence, but comes up occasionally), the actress always has pubes, even if it's a Merkin. That suggests that film studios (legitimate, as opposed to porn) think that the average person expects a lady to have some hair.
People even comment on hair if it isn't properly done. Sienna Miller got ridiculed when photos leaked from the set of Hippie Hippie Shake, because when she was doing a nude swimming scene everyone could see that she had a tiny modern-style landing strip. Everyone immediately cried foul and quite rightly pointed out that a "hippie chick" would have had a full bush; no girl in the 60s would have had a landing strip. The main sign I've seen, though, that things are slowly getting away from the "bald" look is in the postings here at VEF. There is a lot of material posted her every day, not just vintage, but also a great deal of modern. Over the last six months I've started to see a lot more pictorials in which the models had at least some hair. Compared to how it was a couple years ago, there's definitely an increase in the number of "professional" women with pubes. I've even noticed that a lot of porn films are now bringing back some hair. A few years ago if you saw pubes, it was probably a specialty film that was all about bush. Now, though, a lot of the "regular" porn product is again featuring pubic hair (I was especially pleased when I saw the Scooby Doo Parody; every woman in that film had pubes). Whenever someone says that anything is gone forever, I tend to be skeptical. Culture is cyclical. Everything comes back into fashion eventually, unless if it's something that has been proven a health risk (like condom-free sex; and even that has again become the norm in most porn). I figure with pubic hair it's only a matter of time. When girls see enough of a different kind of role model, they'll start following in another direction. Speaking of role models, even though they're bad ones in almost ever way: The other night I saw either Kourtney or Khloe Kardashian (I can never tell them apart, and don't really care) being interviewed by Chelsea Handler, and one of the things they discussed was how she uses olive oil on her pubes to condition and straighten them (she blames the curliness on her Armenian heritage). So there's another person the young people look up to (God only knows why) who is apparently cultivating a healthy crop.

I am also hopeful, and not just because I'm an inveterate optimist. For one, the massive and completely unexpected victory of the natural breast over the bolt-on in porn when all seemed lost circa 1995, taught me that even the most unrefined Neanderthal porn watcher will see the superiority of quality over vulgarity once he's given the option. When those wonderful Eastern European actresses with their natural boobs flooded the market, the majority of consumers found that they had very little time for awful bolt-ons. I saw the same trend in strip clubs across the world (although, granted, my personal experience has been mainly in Europe where plastic was never a majority).
Similarly, now that an increasing number of porn superstars (Sasha Gray springs to mind) begin to sport some quite nice bushes (although I would prefer them to not shave the bottom and just trim there as well) without losing any of their popularity, I hope that the trend is picked up by the copycats and a new generation of porn fans will remember that their genes have programmed them to be turned on by pubic hair. I mean, how can anybody not be moved by the sight of a glorious 80s porn bush like Candie Evens' or -my favourite example- Stacy Donovan's? Imperator The Optimist |

umm...is that so? The last time I had the chance to check some of the best selling contemporary porn sites like br@zzers/n@ughty @merica/re@lityklngs, nothing has changed, quite the contrary, with all the piercing and tattoo craze it's getting even worse

I never said that we had won against piercings and tattoos, which are indeed the new enemy. Sadly they are quite frequent IRL as well, as they are far cheaper than boobjobs. Plastic boobs though are far from the majority they used to be 15 years ago. Back then they were almost impossible to avoid; now it is trivial to do so, even if one strictly sticks (why?) to US porn.
This is victory; it's not eradication, sadly, but I'm happy enough. Imperator |

I recently saw a preview for a scene with Peter North and up-and-coming bubbly blonde star Bree Olson. After years of a landing strip or less, miss Olson had a wondrous-looking full bush, including underneath. Awe inspiring.
