"Known" model as in vef solved/settled id, or "known" model as in professional mag. appearance?

Here's the GND/Newlook model: Leigh | Patti Stapleton that I referred to above. The Newlook set precedes all the GND ones (1990-01 was her first). To me that illustrates that GND was at least a potential sham. Whether that means Gallery were complicit, or only the entrants/their photogs., I don't know. Maybe Patti's career didn't "take off" and so she/Hicks decided to enter her in GND on the off-chance? /shrug/ She wasn't in Newlook as an "amateur", however.

Another example of doubtful/blurred amateurism: Parade Readers' Wives no.37, 1991, here.

One of the models has recently been matched to a professional model from The Latent Image catalogues, while another is pictured in a Peter Flodqvist setting. One of the models seems possibly amateur yet the tile bath setting I'm fairly sure I've seen used before by a UK professional photog. There may be some "amateurs" mixed in among the professional models but many of the sets & photog. styles seem reasonably professional.

Considering the evidence presented so far a Gallery Girl Next Door thread in the ID Projects section could be created. I think it would be fun and beneficial. Some of these girls who prove to be known models have probably had these appearances overlooked in their respective model threads.

I guess I was just meaning: I think it's now been established that at least some GND's also modelled elsewhere/"professionally"--if winning GND itself isn't "professional" enough. So that's useful to bear in mind if/when any other id queries for GNDs crop up.

But then: do we want to continue to "collect" such info.? If so then where's a good place to store it/for others.
Or should we just continue adding here?

Noted in some of the comments/discussion above: I looked at it a bit wider than just Gallery mag., because it seemed there were meaningful similar patterns in several other mags.: many used an "amateur"/shamateur section for "introducing" new models, in a variety of similar forms/guises.

This is a model id thread which has been resolved as much as possible, I think. Continuing this discussion would not serve much purpose since the point has been made some of these girls were not really amateurs. I think we can all agree on that, now. Time to move on.
