Herschel Savage, a beefy, swarthy, Jewish stud, affectionately known as the Hebrew Hammer due to his big thick long brown dick and thick powerful cumshots was a staple of the New York porn scene of the mid to late 1970's before moving out to the West Coast in the early to mid 1980's to get a piece of the action when the girls got decidedly prettier and younger. He carried on until 2010 when after suffering a stroke he finally decided to retire but still acts in off Broadway plays.
Herschel Savage, the star of such tongue-in-cheek productions as Orifice Party (1985), is one of the old lions of the porno film business, having appeared in close to a thousand features, videos and assorted shoots. Born Harvey Cowen on November 25, 1952 in New York City, the renamed Savage got his foot in the proverbial door back in the mid-1970s. In addition to acting in porn, he has also directed features. Savage also performs as a stand-up comedian.
Sadly on October 9th, 2023 Harvey Cohen aka Herschel Savage passed away leaving a Son and a Sister.

As per his standing in the history of porn, Savage has been elected to both Adult Video News and the X-Rated Critics Organization Halls of Fame. Savage was inducted into the first class of the XRCO Hall of Fame along with such famed cinema studs as John Holmes, Harry Reems, Jamie Gillis, John Leslie and Paul Thomas.
