Don't know about automatically but I use " Photo Gallery " in Win7 to straighten scans when resizing them

By "straighten," do mean correcting perspective distortion or "keystoning"? Like what happens when you stand close to a subject and use a wide-angle lens to get it all in the frame?

I don't know of a program that does that automatically. As a professional graphic artist (well, really a glorified typesetter), I use Photoshop or GIMP to straighten out distorted perspective in photos.

I assume you mean pics that were originally printed at an angle in magazines and have not been straightened before scanning - often several on a page at different angles. You can do this free on-line using ipiccy - where you can also crop the individual pictures and carry out many other photo-editing tasks as well.

Hope this helps.

I mean correcting normally shot pictures, but now that I know something can be done with wide angle shots, I'm going to have to try to edit these as well. I guess I am still pretty bad at editing and other computer related tasks !
