I wear a Camel Trophy Adventurers watch which was bought for me by my wife for a special birthday 20 years ago, and it still looks good ,although the stopwatch button is now stuck. I have worn a watch since I was 14 so over 40 years including those with dangerous radioactive dials to make them luminous. My mate talked me into wearing it with the face on the inside of my wrist which has reduced the potential damage to the glass. When I was without it for a week I felt my wrist was naked.

I wear a Christophe Ward C60 GMT most days but do rotate it with a CW C60 at least a couple of days a week.

Those are very expensive. My ultimate dream watch is the Omega Speedmaster which is worn by astronauts and was the first watch on the Moon during the Apollo 11 mission. No one makes a watch like the Swiss.

As I keep finding out - on sunny days with no cover around
Mobile phone screens are next to useless for reading the time quickly
You can play around with the contrast , buy a glare proof extras to try and shade it or just wear an old fashioned watch with hands - no effort required Progress doesnt mean throwing out stuff that only does a few things |

Haven't worn a watch since I was 14 (in the 70s). Read an article with Scottish singer Alex Harvey in which he bemoaned watches as 'demanding you chased time'. And I stopped wearing one. What he said made sense. (I wasn't a huge fan either....not like I was following a musical hero's lead)
The tragedy was he died shortly thereafter from a heart attack....almost as if he was rushing around in the trap of 'time'. |
