My first watch was a Mickey Mouse watch but now I wear a Garmin. I love it. Although, I have already had to replace the band and it is only two years old.

I stopped wearing a watch when I retired. If I need to know what the time is, my car has one and I almost always have my cell phone in my pocket.

Having had two expensive watches fail on me just out of the guarantee period, not Rolex expensive but in the low hundreds of Pounds Sterling, I bought a cheap £20 Timex which lasted longer than the more expensive watches. Indeed it's technically still working but the battery is dead.
I stopped wearing it after the wristband snapped and the replacements were all more expensive than the watch had originally been. Sinse then I've relied on my smartphones and not noticed the absence of a wrist watch.

I do. I like a simple one without all the bells and whistles.

I feel 'naked' without a watch out of the house.
Strangely, I don't wear one 'at home', but if I go out, having forgotten to put it on, I am constantly looking at my hairy left wrist

I have always worn a watch. I have 4 Invictas, a Vostock, A Citizen, A Wenger, a G-Shock. I am looking at Tissot, Orient, or Seiko for my next one.

Happened to me two weeks ago. Out of habit, I wanted to look up the time but got to see my hairy left wrist only. As this happened in the bus with a bunch of people around, I felt embarrassed and pretended to scratch myself.

I teach so I need a watch that I can place on the desk in front of me and discretely keep track of time. I recently lost my father, and I often wear one of his watches. I feel like I have a connection to him in what is otherwise very much my space: the class room. I like the feel of "his" watch, which is now also mine.
