Hi there!

9 HQ Posters & stills of Ingrid Pitt as Marcilla from The Vampire Lovers (1971).

I've fond memories of staying up late & watching Hammer films, ITV always seemed to have them running in late night batches & I must have seen most of them that way.

Though often done on low budgets they usually had an air of quality & style about them, even a weak Hammer film has it's charms.

Actors like Christopher Lee & Peter Cushing (Cushing's in The Vampire Lovers) brought dignity & a certain class to their roles.

For the time they were pretty daring & the later period films pushed the limits more & more. The Vampire Lovers dared to touch on lesbianism, something we wouldn't bat an eylid at today.

When I think of Ingrid Pitt it's this film & Countess Dracula that come strongest to mind. She was a strong sexy presence in those. Is it just me or did she seem to frequently get bath tub scenes in her movies, I can think of at least three, not that I'm complaining.

Sadly she's passed on, so here's to you Ingrid, wherever you may be, thanks for all the entertainment!

Last two are UHQ so expect a bigger size.

3 HQ B&W photos of Ingrid Pitt from The Wicker Man (1973), two different scans of one.

I mentioned Ingrid Pitt's propensity toward bath tub scenes in my The Vampire Lovers post above & here's another from the original Wicker Man.

The scene was all about tempting the character Sergeant Howie (Edward Woodward) to provide at least the possibility of a way out for him & quite how he resisted I'll never know.

UHQ colour & B&W photos, poster of Ingrid Pitt as Countess Elisabeth Nodosheen from Countess Dracula (1971).

To complete my Ingrid Pitt in the bath theme, this time it's not water she's using but blood.

This Hammer horror film's based on the stories surrounding the real life Elizabeth Báthory who was supposed to have murdered young women & bathed in their blood to restore her youth.

It's rather an enjoyable film, a good late period Hammer & Ingrid Pitt gets a juicey role with old age makeup to portray the pre-blood bath countess.
