Frustratingly slow hosts

For my larger videoclips,I use 1Fichier.They have one of the fastest downloads I´ve seen.Files on 500-600meg takes only a couple of minutes,and don´t have to be broken down in smaller files.
For a free user,you can still have 25Gb free space.
For small files,I think Depositfiles is the best.Here you can also have 25Gb free space.
My suggestion,ask the members nicely,so maybe they can upload the specific files you like on say 1Fichier.It will not cost them anything,only a few minutes,which they certainly can spare to help a fellow member.

if i see filejoker or keep2share links only on a post i move on i appreciate the work that goes into putting the files on them but i'm amazed they are allowed. there are a couple of others as well whose names escape me. file factory is slow but gets there i can live with it for the minimal number of times i actually use it. 1fichier is good because it's quick although i've seen people on other forums says they can't get it to work at all. mediafire and zippyshare are good but files don't always survive on there. If files remained longer than seven days then we transfer would be everyone's answer. deposit files is good, quick. Uploadable speed wise is very good but in the last few weeks seems to have developed some nasty pop ups. personally i detest mega. I know it's quick but if i'm doing two downloads at once and one of them is from mega it always cuts out the other one. rapidgator and turbo are neither rapid nor turbo and should be done under the trades description act and thankfully the latter is banned on here.

If people have issues with my posts, I welcome them to contact me and I'll try to resolve their issue. If people want smaller chunks or heavily compressed files then I'm happy to help.

Bottom line is I have three premium accounts... There are others that I would like to download from but I'm in the same situation of slow downloads. It's one of those things. You're lucky to get something at all for free

We also have to be wary of rules in different sections as there are nuances like mogli said which can catch you out when moving between classic and modern and you can get confused from time to time!

Hi flu. Issue I have is my upload speeds suck...

Can you FTP upload to Fichier as a free user? Or is it only available as a web upload?

Few minutes I'm afraid turn into a lot longer for some of us!

Also MediaFire - free, fast, no waiting time, multiple downloads, rare capcha. Whats not to like?
And for better comfort use JDownload manager.

I certainly wasn't referring to anyone specifically with my original post BCFC_1982, although "if the cap fits" Joke Only A joke. Your point about being lucky to get something for free is absolutely correct, and I for one am extremely grateful, although it might now seem so.

Nor was I asking for alternative hosts to use, I know which are the fast ones, but thanks the flu, your post makes sense.

What I wanted was a way of venting my frustration, seeing if anyone else feels the same (and it seems they do) and some reason why certain members use these hosts (and BCFC_1982 may have gone some way to explaining that) and finally to open a discussion as to weather some sites perhaps need to be outlawed? I know it is not for me to say, I can make the decision myself. Do I want the file, then put up with it. (as mogli63 said). I now understand the issues with number of files and different rules on different forums, but if I had to download from such a slow site like filejoker (aptly named) smaller chunks would make it easier, but I also understand that upload speeds might be an issue as well)

As with most things in life I'll just keep on keeping on.

Frustration: yes I share it, keep2share or rapidgator or any other host that I'm not a premium member of is the same here so I totally understand the problem but guess that's what we have to put up with.

I don't think you're ungrateful either. If you can't download something then we've missed you as the intended recipient if it's a file you want. Your post count and thanks count show you to be a valuable member at VEF.

Why I post to FileFactory...when I joined VEF, everything was being uploaded to FileFactory, RapidShare and DepositFiles. I struggled to download things and started to index Fiona Cooper posts. I then eventually bit the bullet and shelled out for Premiums to all three.

As time progressed files started to die from various hosts, like Fichier due to their 60 day non download death...RapidShare closing down or revamping their business policy to ridiculous levels. I tried to help repost links and used FileFactory to do so.

Over time it appears to be deteriorating as a filehost, losing files inexplicably but I have a long term membership there so I persevere with it.

The link/post situation allows me to post mirrors in one section but not another so that can be restrictive. I try to break posts into chunks and ask for feedback....the feedback I got was post as one file....very few said about chunks.

Now I try to stick to 1GB parts, and try to upload a 70% compressed version to try to help both sets of members, if people still have problems my door is always open - I'm not inflexible

My biggest issue is upload speed. Via my home connection it sucks artless then 100kb a second so any file takes ages to upload and I cannot explain to her indoors why the PC needs to be on overnight lol

She's very supportive of my index work but don't think she'd like me to upload stuff. So please don't tell her lol

So I have to use my 4G connection to upload...which only works out of the house *doh*

Filehosters want your money. Like porn sites do. If they were ridiculously good for free then they'd be shooting themselves in the foot.

I always use deposit file for hosting all my movies ... no long wait time to get movies either ... other file host's delete your material after thirty days period ... deposit file links stay current if someone downloads that link once per month ... hands down i prefer that host only for movies ... the image host's are so unpredictable ... who knows ... image bam is best for gif's ... image avenue is best for score images or copyright material ... in my humble opinion .

Fichier removes after non download in 60 days. FileFactory i was told 90 days.

FTP works for registered free accounts.
