@ BCFC_1982: I'd like to comment that the thanks button might be sometimes insufficient. When someone solves one of my requests, I feel like I've been helped personally, and that my overflowing gratitude won't be contained in the one-size-fits-all, ambiguous thanks-button that anybody can click for whatever they consider "useful". And the thank-you post has one obvious difference with the PM thanks: public recognition.

So I would humbly suggest that, in this particular section, moderators keep the existing flexibility regarding this issue.

Cheers.

The previous staff in this section were too rigid with rules enforcement, in my opinion. These are all discussion threads and VEF rules which were adopted to suit the content sections aren't necessarily needed here. The GD&N section also has some more relaxed rules for the same reason. Also we have a fairly small core group of dedicated participants and I feel relaxing the rules somewhat makes for a more personal experience which I believe is beneficial.

No disrespect to my colleague is intended; he's just trying to do a good job. We will continue to allow these types of posts and if the members go a little too far we'll simply remove posts as necessary as we've done in the past.

As a user of mir I find thanks posts a bit annoying. No doubt they're well-intentioned but they cause me to re-visit a thread because new content/info. might have been posted, only to find it's just a thanks post. That uses up my time, albeit only a small amount, but it all adds up. I'm in favour of flexibility in mir for the reasons already covered above, but for purposes of expressing thanks I'd suggest instead using the button &/or (if you wish/feel compelled) send the person a PM, as that won't "trouble" any other visitors here. /shrug/ Just a thought.

Moved above 3 posts into this section for further debate.

That is exactly the reason I brought it up Eff.

I'm all in favour of thanks with additional information or images but simple thanks, or thank you in posts are relatively not worth it.

Just my opinion.

Hi,

I hope this is the right section, if not - apologies to mods (I did have a look around).

Q: A new member posted a request in the softcore model request section, but no-one was able to identify. The new member doesn't have enough posts to post a request in the main model ID section, so would I be able to do it for him as I'd very much like to know who the particular model is?

I emailed him and he said I could use his images etc.

As always, thanks in advance to anyone who can advise on this

Should we still enforce the rule that a member needs to have received 150 thanks before posting a request? If I.D requests are allowed by any member in other sections doesn't it make that rule a little pointless now?

For the record I'm not a fan of the model thread sections allowing model id requests. But it is their prerogative to run their sections as they see fit. The 150 Thanks rule will not be changed in this section.

I'm sorry, can someone direct me to the proper thread that explains all these bizarre acronyms in thread titles with capital letters like NIT, TNC, NTF, etc?

Thank you
