Oh dear, what's happened to Hawthorn. Unrecognizable not wearing the bumble-bee strip and losing by 60 points atm to Gold Coast Suns???

Hawthorn won about 6 games last year by less than a kick - which they should have lost but their opponents left the gate open - that in itself would take them from the top 4 to barely in the top 8
Their percentage was around 120 where the other favourites were 140-150 Said to me their dominance was coming to an end. Trading away slow dominant midfielders in Sam Mitchell(their best & fairest) & Sniper Lewis(Another Stevie Johnson hothead) for some young unproven kids in Jaeger O'Meara(barely played a game in 2 years) & Tom Mitchell was always looking to the future long term. The new rules with no 3rd man up in the ruck hurt them more than most You could say something similar about Sydney 0-3 Losing to the Power & Collingwood at home says where their at is nowhere If Fremantle can bring in 6 new players after an 89 point thrashing and beat the reigning premier anything is possible. http://www.afl.com.au/fixture http://www.afl.com.au/ladder Last edited by buttsie; April 12th, 2017 at 05:40 AM.. I've enjoyed Fremantle's transformation in the past week. An amazing turnaround.

AFL to suspend players for gut , jumper punches
You'd swear those that administer this game are idiots
For years they tried to get rid of behind the scenes coward punches and largely succeeded Then along comes the body punch to the stomach when your opponent wasn't looking and lastly the punch to the face which involves grabbing their jumper. Its all striking but apparently up till now didnt have enough impact to result in a match ban Its took them 3+ seasons before they decided to say no more A 1000 dollar fine even to someone earning 50,000 (average wage in AFL is just over 300,000) isnt a deterrent. One wonders what form of cowardly intimidation will be next http://www.afl.com.au/news/2017-05-2...jumper-punches Current standings after round 9 of 23 http://www.afl.com.au/ladder |

Free Agency - the farce continues
So players arent meant to leave for at least 6-8 years after being drafted
The reality is many leave after 2 years if they are courted by the right club for the right money or they really really want their mummy Maybe the AFL needs to re-think its forced policy of players going where they dont wish to be? 2nd year players holding clubs to ransom like Tom Boyd (9 games at the time) ending up with 1 million a year while not even being able to make the 1st team. Just bizarre Geelong is just a 2 player team it would seem When 1 is missing they are nowhere At home - Geelong Cats 8.13 (61) Sydney Swans 16.11 (107) The Sydney juggernaut rolls on with Franklin only scoring a goal http://www.afl.com.au/match-centre/2017/20/geel-v-syd |

I still can't get over McGovern's mark from last week. I mean, you might be able to pick holes in from a technical pov, or it might not be as spectacular as others. But that's one of the best ever. It's a moment that makes me want to play footy.

Hes playing in the right era - no chopping of the arms
It always helps when Collingwood get the wobbles Still cant believe Fremantle are offering 3.75mil over 5 years to get him Smacks of desperation trying to fill the hole left by Pavlichs retirement and the rest not really stepping up to help Walters. He's really a taller version of Jeremy Howe but neither are key forward material like a Lance Franklin or Joe Daniher. Its the era of silly money for tall guys that MIGHT turn into super stars The silly season continues Richmond up to 3rd - 2 games clear of 5th - without Riewoldt Hawthorn supporters now following the reserves - Box Hill on top Adelaide (1) destroys Port (5 ) - embarassing http://www.afl.com.au/fixture http://www.afl.com.au/ladder Last edited by buttsie; August 7th, 2017 at 07:28 AM..
