We used to call it The FascistGraph when I lived in student hall at university but I used to read it, partly because it was usually factual and well argued and open and up front about its bias (not sneaky about it like the Mail) and I am intellectually curious and like to hear views which differ from mine. Also, back in the 1980s, it had excellent cricket reporting. Best of all, my annual JCR fee had already paid for my right to read it as long as it stayed in the Common Room and others could read it before and after me: there was no need to buy a copy.

Is the Mail right wing? Without a doubt it is, Extreme right? Definitely not. An extreme right paper would not praise Muslim members of the UK's armed forces, an extreme right paper would not give credit to ethnic minorities who's actions deserve praise. Of course this is a subjective matter, the Mail might be viewed by a small minority as 'extreme right', but usually they are people with a far left (or should that be extreme left?) viewpoint. |

The Bellygraph is a good newspaper, good news content and open about it's views though not so much since the Barclay Bros took over.
Equally the news content of the Guardian is good, as for the comments of Polly and Jasmine though. |
