The future of "Vintage Erotica"

I think some porn from the 1990s and 2000s is already gaining that "vintage" appeal, even if it is not true vintage like porn from the 1970s. Porn forums are always getting posts from people looking for that one video or photo set that they can't find anymore. The best porn from those eras is not being forgotten, and it will always have its fans.

With the advent of the internet things changed - we could rediscover those pretties who entertained us during our younger days, and sometimes we could find the complete photosets that we had only got the small pick of in magazines. This perhaps was the greatest thrill for me - for example I had only seen softer shoots of my fave 1990s model Sara St. James in the PRP mags, but now I was able to see complete rafts of photos, including lovely pink shots that would never had made the cutting room floor at PRP towers back in the day.

Today if you see a magazine photospread, you know you can just hop on the Interweb and track down the complete photoset, as well as tens if not hundreds of others. The photos I have of Sara St. James are still prized, as hey are very few compared to my Sophie Moone collection, which is close to 100,000 images. I think those of us who love Sophie or any other contemporary model will be wanking over her until we cannot do it anymore, but it is unlikely that her photsets - which are so common in comparison - will generate the same frisson of excitement as unearthing an old set of SSt.J still does for me now.

It is a bit like Music - today we have mass commercialism, numerous cover versions and a mass of manufactured crap - and more crucially the means to share large amounts of digital media. In this context, to people of our ilk, a collection of original vinyls will be far more sought after. Yes, you'd have the tracks on MP3 that you can burn onto a disc to play in the car, but you'd still want that rare vinyl original.

Vintage porn is much the same - having thousands of digital images is admittedly wonderful, but it's not quite the same as leafing through a magazine that you bought back in 1989.

You are correct. Nothing like flipping through an old magazine.

Get a high-quality laminating machine and start laminatin' them pages for the sake of posterity.
