I'm not religious in any way.
Having said that, both my children are Christened in my local C of E Church. I find churches and cathedrals very interesting places, architectually speeking. While on holiday in Rome, one of the best days was spent in The Vatican.

Thing is, honor aside, if you're not a believer there really isn't a point to avoid getting a little "something" in church.
My first real job (as in, getting paid to do something) was to clean up a church. Most of you wouldn't believe what I found. You'd think I'm lying. But I'm not. 1. The women's toilets are 10X more disgusting than the men's toilets. They throw their pads and tampons all over the place, and their "flush rate" is MUCH lower than the men's. 2. I found left over food, used Pampers, used tampons and feminine napkins under the pews. In addition, once a year I had to take a putty knife and scrape all the used chewing gum stuck under the pews, since apparently that is the most normal place in the world to deposit chewing gum. Again, I ain't making this up. I never found a used condom, but it wouldn't have suprised me. (I just lied: a used condom would have indeed surprised me. ) |

Church Porn?
Quote:
Still, I'd suggest that Catholic churches--being open all day and all--would be more likely to be "violated" in the way we are talking about. Which raises another interesting thing for those of us who take a sort of scholarly interest in porn: TONS of church porn in the sense of fuckers and fuckees in habits or wearing Roman collars; but has any of you ever encountered a loop or film with fucking in the church? Maybe that's taboo. Last edited by spoonfedmonkey; January 24th, 2011 at 05:22 PM.. Reason: spelling |

I want every one this thread to be respectful towards one another. I particularly want this thread to contain a friendly conversation. Posting hostile opinions against the religious convictions of others isn't friendly IMHO. I am not sure how this thread can carry on if we can't refrain from that sort of thing.

Back to the original question, I do not go. I went to Sunday school every week for ten years, and then one day I told my father (who was a Sunday school teacher at the time) I didn't want to go anymore. No drama. I just told him I didn't like it. He said I didn't have to go, and that was it. If I ever have children, they will have to decide whether to go on their own. I won't be taking them.
