Default what is this country coming to?

I was about to watch Match Of The Day on Saturday night and just prior to it starting, a voice over came on and said, 'The following program contains flashing images.' For a football program of all things?

WTF. I couldn't believe what I'd just heard. The flashing images turned out to be some advertising hoarding around the pitch. Nothing on the field. WTF!

A jar of peanut butter in our pantry says 'this product is made in a factory which handles other nuts'. No sh1t Sherlock as the saying goes.

It's possible to get certain veterinary medicines from high street chemists, if you have a prescription from your vet. However, judging by the warning on the label of some feline medication I bought recently, you shouldn't let your cat drive or operate heavy machinery after it's been given the tablets.

I kid you not!

Following risen's posting, I note with some alarm that a piece of salmon I bought today "contains fish"!

The worst of all is the Superman costume telling your kid it doesn't make him fly.

Funny you should say that. Yesterday morning before heading off to work I caught a bit of Sky News UK and the news reader did warn that the following story contains flash photography. I thought that was peculiar.

Anyway here is my favourite warning. (I don't know why anybody would want to but....)

I never know whether to laugh or cry when I watch the Horror Channel and the announcer comes on and states "The following film contains scenes some may find disturbing". WTF do you think I`m watching a horror film for!!!? Unreal

It's not new - until recently I had a 1977 Cadillac and in the handbook that came with it was a warning that images in the mirrors were reversed.

WTF? = a warning to those who suffer from epilepsy -
life threatening seizures and fits set off by flashing visuals

I'd assume the warning has come about because multiple sufferers have reported suffering from such an episode while watching the football

The actual condition is wider spread throughout the community than many know
which would be why a warning has been added presumably.

Wish I had that warning on my superman kit as i jumped from a 2nd story roof
Luckily i broke my fall by catching the corrigated iron fence...5 stitches...blood pissing everywhere
sweet...something worthwile to talk about at school the next day

I think that's fair. MacDonald's were once done when a woman spilled coffee on herself and got burnt. You'd think it was obvious that coffee should be hot, but as far as I remember the court agreed with the woman and gave her compensation. The warning on cups now is to prevent that happening again.

But you get the ridiculous situation where pretty much every processed snack has a warning about nuts, with the result that people with a nut allergy - who the warnings were originally supposed to protect - can't eat anything out of a bag. So the warnings are all pretty much useless.
