How has VEF been of benefit too you

Like rotobott said, I came for the porn and stayed for the people. Apart from the priceless collection of porn (my consume is limited though), I had great debates with folks here on all kinds of topics. A lot of guys here also share a similar taste in music and movies. A great place where you can discuss with people who disagree with you (or vice versa) on a civilized level. However it might sound ridiculous, the communication on VEF resembles real life friendships where friends clash with their different opinions but still go for a beer after giving each other a bloody nose.
Forums like VEF are a rarity in this huge virtual world.

When I first stumbled upon this forum I had no intention of posting nor joining, I was in for the pictures but there weren't that many I wanted and the ones here were ones you could find via fledgling search engines or I already had them in my collection. In the end I thought what the hell I have over 20,000 pics and my own scans, why not share. I've been trying to find the EXIT to this place for ages but like a maze I keep finding my way back to the main page-HELP!!

I've also made some good friends, contacts over the years I've been here and I've also been a Moderator for a while which was good especially in this forum's early days but now there are just too many people to help so I am content to sit back and post when I can but I am rapidly running out of thing(pictures) to post so anything I find I post and textual messages are the norm these days. Some have said I am a legend, well not yet and most legends are normally dead...and I ain't in any hurry to die just yet

My use of this forum has changed, or expanded I should say, over time. First it was just a great site for finding new material of old favorites. Then it became the best place to identify all the unknown models I could never put a name to. It expanded my computer skills, wanting to share my collection as well, I learned how to store files at Imagevenue and post thumbnails, I'd never done that before. The General Discussion thread allows me to hear member's points of view on a vast array of topics with an international perspective, and many times is my first exposure to breaking news/events. I can always find something to make me laugh in the Funnies thread. In short, VEF has a sampling of whatever I'm looking for, be it smut, discussion, comedy, I can always find something here.

Like everyone else, I initially came here just for the porn.

But I've also enjoyed reading and participating in many of the discussions on various topics, especially those dealing with politics.

And what can I say?? I love the opportunity to swap snarky -- but basically harmless -- comments with a buncha guys who can be pretty witty and insightful.

I have surfed the porn sites on the internet for some years now. I not only like the photo sets, but also the discussion threads amongst members. I had almost given up searching for the "perfect porn site" until a Google search came up with VEF.
I got so tired of members disrespecting the models posted on the site and even worse, other members.!!

I was suprised by the way the mods and admins just let this disrespectful behavior continue.

VEF is definitely different. Members are friendly and respectful, and the mod team is on top of problems and concerns. That is why I am happy to be a part of such a team.

Please continue to respect and befriend your fellow members, as you would want in return.

The best line so far is "I came for the porn, stayed for the people." That sums it up nicely. I would like to think that VEF is close to what the fabled Roman Forum was. A meeting place for business, discussing philosophy, politics, current events, history, the arts and whetever else came up. We're all equals and all opinions if voiced politely are valid.

I suspect that, like me, a lot of peeps approached this site VERY cautiously, checking their firewalls for attacks every 5 seconds
But familiarity breeds a lack of contempt in this case.

All over the web there's so much attitude, such a need to "conform to what this particular site demands" and suchlike.
On VEF I can just be me, relax, have a laugh, and.........there's no effort.
That last bit is really important.
VEF, for me, is effortless FUN.
To quote Red Dwarf's Kryten: "Fun? The spending of leisure time in a non-productive manner."
I regard VEF as very productive
