So is the american porn industry going through another bad publicity phase and trying to cover it up? It has been here a few times before with performers of both sexes bringing unwanted news to the front. But it always manages to survive somehow. Porn is an unscrupulous profession where you will find many with bad reputations still 'allowed' to work. The internet is saturated with a ton of porn, the majority of it I think, from the states.
I think it does come down to money at the end of it all but it is only a few males or females that will make a decent living from it. It is similar to shareholders protecting their assets-the monies they have invested. And if it means hushing up a HIV positive performer, then so be it. One way or another, they will find a way around it. Is the european porn industry in a similar position to the american industry? I ask because although there is plenty of europorn available, are the guidelines tougher than in America for performers as you don't seem to hear of scandals such as this becoming public? Or are they just better at keeping things quiet? When I see what is coming out some of these stables, some of it is degrading and debasing. Which is the safer industry-if there is such a thing?

I read you wiki article and something seems off a bit. I seem to remember that Hyapatia Lee quit the industry around 1993 mainly because of Wallice. But thats 5 years before your article says he was diagnosed. Probably my poor memory. |
