I get the following message with uploaded:-

"You've reached your free account limit"

It then invites me to become a premium user. Have I reached an invisible limit (for life) or is it a monthly thing. I know for sure it's not weekly!! Have tried clearing my history but to no avail.

Any ideas?

You could try using anonymous proxies to "change" your IP

With ul u can download 1 file within 180 min as free or registered user. U can make a reconnect (if u have a dynamic ip) to avoid this.

But you also totally randomly get told - for up to several days - that you've exhausted your free downloads. When you haven't even been there for days..... I find ul.to completely unpredictable.

I dont know if u use a proxy. If yes i think you are not the only one. So many people use the same ip. That could be a reason.
The only OCH i like is RS but nowadays i only use it as backup and for remoting because of known reasons. Ul ist the most used host on german boards. I would say 90% of the movies posted there have an Ul mirror. Thats why i use it too because i am active on german boards too and many leechers there have Ul accounts. Ul is not good for free users but u can say that about most of the OCH.

I've been using 1fichier.com as a downloader w/o a problem for some months now. It's a French site as far as I know. All you have to know as a downloader is that "Telechargez le fichier" means "Download the file".

Anonymous users get the files hosted for 60 days if inactive and free susbscribers get 90 days. Download speed is more than fair, w/o captcha or waiting time. Uploaders can use their usual FTP client.

There latest change excess files over certain limits to be deleted is easily the worst though the 1Gb / 50GB a day bandwidth traffic limitation had already nobbled the majority of links being shared

They started out foolishly giving the impression mass deletions over limits for

Free users 5GB of storage

Premium users default setting 250Gb if no response to upgrade
by 20.3.2013 (amended to 25.3.2013)

then it was 3.4.2013 (German RS page)

As to the storage prices quite clearly they dont want anyone with siginificant collections remaining on their servers.

You might pay for a month to remote upload elsewhere
if the new deadline of 8.4.2013 isnt sufficient

Given RS on the German version says free users say they can move everything away with no limits while others say they've hit the 5Gb a day barrier the truth is you wont know till you start downloading or moving

I like this one for down loading. And I apologize for sounding like a simpleton. I'm not sure I'm uploading correctly. Does the send button mean upload? There's no progress bar after hitting send. Just the indicator that it is "sending."

I use their 1fichier's FTP client solution and have therefore integrated it in my upload manager Filezilla. This function is available for their free registered users too and it's a function also enabled by Hotfile & Uploaded.net.

Their server's probably unavailable, it happens with every server. That's why I prefer to upload via their FTP client and my upload manager, it get the message straight away. Plus, you can use the manager with other filehosts which allow the option, like uploaded.net, hotfile or depositfiles.
