Uli-- I hate to be the one to break this to you, but ZZ Top is a Texas band. Probably a thousand miles from the west coast!
But a good choice, reminds me of high school. 1975. Vietnam was over. Finally. Today's lot: Black Sabbath 2013 release "13" Aside from Bill being absent, an instant classic. Regardless of what I've previously said. Seriously.

Emmylou Harris - Elite Hotel
released in 1975 on Reprise records. "Elite Hotel" was Harris' first #1 country album
and the second album she released in 1975. her voice is so sexy, I could listen to her for hours. but maybe that's just me. one of the songs on this album is a decent cover of the Beatles' "Here, There and Everywhere". 1 "Amarillo" 2 "Together Again" 3 "Feelin' Single, Seein' Double" 4 "Sin City" 5 "One of These Days" 6 "Till I Gain Control Again" 7 "Here, There and Everywhere" 8 "Ooh Las Vegas" 9 "Sweet Dreams" 10 "Jambalaya (On The Bayou)" 11 "Satan's Jewel Crown" 12 "Wheels" [with Jonathan Edwards] |

Max Bruch: String Quartet no,1 in C minor op.9
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pbR374PfnyM
String Quartet No. 1 by Max Bruch. Performed by the Quartetto Academica. I. Andante - Allegro Ma Non Troppo II. Adagio III. Allegro Molto Energico IV. Molto Vivace "Bruch's two string quartets date from his youth. One rarely hears them today which is unjust as they are full of rich and effective melodies and are well-written in the style of the mid Romantic. To some extent, they resemble Mendelssohn's Op.44 quartets. The First Quartet dates from 1858. The first movement begins with an Andante introduction and leads to an Allegro ma non troppo with its energetic and powerful main theme. The lovely second subject is more lyrical. The second movement, Adagio, is a sweet song without words. A stormy scherzo, Allegro molto energetico, follows. Its contrasting trio section is based on a folk melody. The finale, Molto vivace, is a tarantella. Both of its themes are particularly fetching."---Wilhelm Altmann writing in his Handbook for String Quartet Players (thanks to GoldieG89 for the upload and the notes) |
