The General Election (UK)
So we have a 'hung' parliament. I note that the political media have gone into something akin to a frenzy over this situation. It was predicted at the beginning of the campaign that the Conservatives would win the greatest number of seats but would not command a majority. Where the analysts did get it wrong was that they suggested that the Lib Dems could increase their number of seats - this has not happened.
Another Lib Dem under achievement? Perhaps, but the vagaries of our daft electoral system do them no favours. Labour have approximately 8.5 million votes which gleaned them 255 seats, whereas the Lib Dems have 6.6 million votes but only have (at time of typing) 55 seats. This surely is a ludicrous situation. I also note that Brown is making overtures to Clegg with proposals on forming a coalition by offering an overhaul of the electoral system. |

Hmm well I am not convinced that Clegg will do a deal with the Conservatives-he disagreed with a lot of what Cameron wanted to do-my guess is that they will side with Labour but I can't see Brown lasting long-perhaps David Milliband will be next leader. Either way some of the most extraordinary scenes happened last night-QUEUING UP to vote! I've never seen that before-usually there is so much voter apathy so all the polling stations were caught out. To not allow people to vote though was disgraceful and that whole system needs changing-what about online voting or automatic voting machines - surely this is possible in the 21st century.??
Best thing about all this though is the BNP was ousted and that was the best news of the night-Griffen booted out and comprehensively thrashed. Shame that arch arse Clarke was re-elected as well as William Vague-don't people realise they were rubbish the last time they were in? How could anyone take the Conservatives seriously to govern anew when old Tories like them are still about-whilst on this subject can someone please tell me the logic of voting in Zac Goldsmith, a millionaire to the House-what does he know of hard graft, living on the poverty line or bringing up kids in a one-parent family? Did anyone see that idiot Aaron Barshak was running-they'll let anyone in these days-you will recall he tried to gatecrash a royal event dressed in a wedding dress and looking more like a Taliban bomber!

Watched the Channel 4 "Alternative Election night" coverage and found it very entertaining. David Mitchell, Jimmy Carr & Charlie Brooker turned out to be an inspired team with some nice barbs along the way! Of course, Jimmy Carr had to say what a lot of us were thinking when he referred to certain politicians as "A bunch of f***ing C**ts"! And who can forget his other highlight near the top of the show: "If you find this election stuff boring, have you tried pornography? It's great!"

It wasn't just the tax payer funded smut, it was the £116,000 that she screwed out of us for a pokey bedroom in her sister's house and the subsequent arrogance with the threat of legal action on someone who pointed out the truth Bye bye "smacked arse" |

One-party government?
England thinks it will die because it doesn't have one-party government
If they think one-party government is so good, why they hate us cuddly Russians so long? |
