1) The opening music for Robotech, which was new in 1985-86, along with the Gorbachev government and Apple computers for my family.
2) and 3) "Is This Love" by Whitesnake and "Pour Some Sugar On Me" by Def Leppard, which were popular songs in the late '80s. Not coincidentally, both bands are of British origin, so all of you fine blokes in the UK have some great musical talent. These are a few of the songs that remind me of the '80s; I was a little too young to fully appreciate hair metal until about 1991, when Z ROCK was on the air in Cincinnati. But I still like mecha animations and Whitesnake, whose entire body of work I now own. |

Wow, this is a tough one!
Being an 80's child there's literally DOZENS of songs that spring to mind. If I had to chose three that stick in my mind the most (out of a huge selection) I'd probably choose: * Take on Me by A-Ha. * Money for Nothing by Dire Straits (I can remember sitting in my fathers car has a boy with that playing on the car radio ). * Frankie by Sister Sledge (reminds me of something that occurred at my primary school during a school holiday. I think I've already told that story before somewhere on here... ). |

Lion - Transformers Theme
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOhnKIVLzOw I loved this movie as a kid (and still do). My copy of the soundtrack sounded terrible, mainly because I didn't have access to a dual tape deck, so had to make do with playing my friend's legit copy through one tape player, and holding another tape player next to the speaker while it recorded. But I listened to it religiously anyway. Rick Astley - Never Gonna Give You Up https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ I remember my mum dancing around to this and singing along while doing the hoovering. Jive Bunny and the Mastermixers - Swing The Mood https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aoi5sVsJqCY Horrendous novelty crap, but I loved it when I was around 9 or so. |

my 3 are from the early 50s....
The first, from 1952, is probably because I was just old enough then to remember...
Jimmy Boyd - I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus 1952 The second (another 'novelty' song) and third were from listening to 45rpm records that my parents got from a neighbor who serviced the juke boxes in the Corpus Christi, TX area in the late 50s (Please, Mister Custer - Larry Verne) I think that I remember this one so well because it was the first one with a serious story - and the 50s had so many western shows on TV... El Paso - Marty Robbins
