Thumbnail sets or link to zip?

What do you guys prefer? When posting full sets with pics as thumbnails, pages with many sets are loading slowly and some pics get lost over time. But this has the advantage that everyone gets to see the set at first, and people who don't care for full sets can just pick their favs and be done with it.

When posting a few example pics and then linking to a zip file, the page loads faster and the layout is cleaner, but, also because there's so much content here , many won't bother to d/l the full set and just skip, and that's not intended by the uploader I guess.

Another important point to consider is how long do thumbnails last compared to passworded zips? Might be different for various hosts I guess.

I voted for full sets as thumbnails but I've never uploaded a set of photos or come to that never downloaded one either.

I wish I could give just one answer, but as far as I'm concerned it varies. If a set is around 25-30 pics, I don't like to download a zip. I find it annoying, and tend to ignore the post (well, thank it and then move on).

If, on the other hand, the post has 150-200 pics of the woman, and the difference between 8 pics is that she has moved her hand slightly in each one, then a big set of thumbnails is also annoying. In such situations a zip would make more sense.

If a person does choose to make a zip, I think he should make sure that he puts up a really good set of representative pics. If she starts dressed and ends fully nude, then you want to make sure people know that. If she has sex with a guy, and then another woman joins in, you want to make sure people now that. It's tricky (and when I put up video clips, I'm very careful myself to get a small number of pics that hits all the high points).

I understand the frustration of having to scroll through an endless page of thumbnails, if each post is gigantic. I especially hate having to grab the now-tiny little scroll bar (because, you know, it shrinks as the page gets bigger) on the right and drag it back up to get to the top of the page again when I want to move to another thread... I've often thought the perfect solution would be to have the VEF toolbar at the top and bottom of the screen. That way, when you've just gotten to the last message in a seemingly endless page of posts, you could just move your pointer over and click User CP or New Posts, and off you'd go.

Thanks for the input so far ... so another point is the number of pics in total and how much real difference there is between pics ("the difference between 8 pics is that she has moved her hand slightly in each one").

I bypass the 50/60 pic posts of one set purely because theres about maybe 10 poses

As I'm not a serious collector I tend to bypass file links with 100+ pic sets because more often than not I never look at them again after the initial perusal

On the other hand 1 vidcap to sum up an entire film often doesnt show enough and in that case individual vidcaps would be better

This topic has been discussed adnauseum and the bottom line from memory was it would be next to impossible to implement because you literally would have to remove every post over the maximum limit already posted

Safe to say whats here is how it is

I dont have a preference either way but then a few of my threads tend to err both ways
Lots of thumbnails backed up by host file links
Neither are as reliable as they once were

Definitely a download link - the whole site would be a small fraction of what it is today if there were links instead of endless series of pics.

However, I understand that nobody would be arsed to download, extract etc only to find out that there's only 5/180 pics worth saving - so I guess having both worlds can actually suit everybody.

Thumbnails are superior to zipfiles from my own point of view. I very rarely download a zipfile, particularly a rapidshare one. With thumbnails, you get what you see. They are far more convenient.

I almost never download a zipfile. Even zipfiles of my real favorite women contain 99% of junk I don't want to keep

It's better just to get the 1% you DO want
