Here's one of my faves from the dawn of the 80's. This kicked serious arse..then they did Come on Eileen....and then the Brush Strokes theme......and that was it.
Sit back and enjoy Dexy's Midnight Runners with Geno.

Always wished my teachers looked and acted like the ones in the video,
I only seemed to run away from them to escape a belting

Guys Ive been trying to post a youtube link to one of my favourite vids but it comes up 'not available in your country' so you will have to google it yourselves!

In the ninties I was addicted to a video on the windows 95 computer disc, I did a bit of detective work on google and found out it was called 'Goodtimes' by Edie Brickell and released by Geffen record.

Look this up folks, I promise you wont be disapointed. (once again sorry I cant post a youtube link,I tried)

Ps-Superb thread mv.

Quote:
Face to Face was a new wave Boston, Massachusetts quintet. Guitarist Stu Kimball formed the band in New Hampshire during the late '70s with a close group of talented friends. They moved to Boston in 1980 and were signed by Epic Records in 1982. Their highest reaching single was "10-9-8" from their self-titled first album, which peaked at #38 on the Billboard Hot 100. They disbanded in 1988, approximately one year after switching labels to PolyGram Records. Laurie Sargent went on to record as a solo artist and is currently part of Twinemen.

Quote:
The Attackers were the real-life band-mates of Laurie Sargent, who provided the singing voice for Ellen Aim. Their band was called Face to Face and they played mainly "new wave" music around the Boston area. The group split up in 1988.

The title came from a song written and recorded by Bruce Springsteen on his album "Darkness On The Edge Of Town". Original plans were for the song to be featured on the film soudtrack but when Springsteen found out the song would be rerecorded by other vocalists, he withdrew permission for the song to be used.

Same thing happens to me Tab , seems to have come into force in the last several months and it`s damn frustrating .Also one of the reasons i don`t contribute to "What are you currently listening to " as nowadays it takes so long to find a video to go with the song the actual things over and i`m six tracks down the line

Ok now for my next performer , who`s yet another supremely talented singer songwriter . Yet one some may find a bit echoey (If that`s even a word ?) sounding in so far as her voice goes ,but i like her muchly (Now that`s definitely not a word )

Imogen Heap

Last one is a fan created vid , it`s not the greatest but it`s the best of a damn poor bunch. Anyway this is one of my favourite songs of her`s and i wanted to give a link of some sort so others could hear it

I have had this problem quite often with youtube: they're turning into a bag of arse IMHO. Trying to find the proper version of Kiss Me by Sixpence None The Richer was nigh on impossible (some members would probably think and a good thing too but we all have our own eclectic musical tastes); however there were no end of truly unspeakable bastardised cover versions on youtube. There isn't enough live ammunition in existence to deal properly with the perpetrators of this artistic crime.

And I haven't even said a word about the mindboggling awfulness of the videos to which this song is being set. All bad enough to blow any self respecting LCD screen. Youtube have never heard of quality control as a concept.

There ya go
PS, there is a firefox extension that allows the video to be downloaded in MPEG 4 format or High Defenition, I use it a lot and works very well
