Couldnt agree more dazza2 anyone owned by the French or English clubs must be nearly broken.The Irish setup is way ahead on man management,and it was the only way to go because of the very small player pool to dive into. The evolution of professional rugby I find fascinating,as an Historian it mirrors the Soccer and NFL,the owners are king and players became commodities ,until Bosman in soccer/football.

They were called cheats by us because we in the Northen Hem hadnt copped on
I believe Ireland are now the innovators and are "cheating" by resting their players,and may they cheat all day long,and I hope it will stop the English and French owners treating their players like meat

Got back from the shops just in time for kickoff for Australia v Ireland. Half hour later I'm still waiting for the damn virgin box to install updated software. Bastards.

Problem with tv sport these days is you wait ages for something tidy and all are on at the same time.

First two games all to early for this old 'un so it was then a toss up between the ladies cricket against S.A. and the big boys also against S.A. What odds could you give for that happening on the same day.

Well the ladies were not going very well. So turned to the rugger and England were 20 3 up before one could blink (a bit like the ladies scrore today). Since that seemed to be a gimmee I went back to the cricket just in case one of the famous come-backs was possible. Not to be. And when I went back to the rugby I could hardly believe the score - and I guess that neither could Eddie.

So both Ireland and England lose albeit close scoring games so could Wales readdress the balance with a 'home' game (think about it) against the Pumas. 20 3 for a long time (seems to be the numbers of the day). Maybe Argentina can rue not attempting more penalty goals with only a consolation try at the end. But some well worked tries for Wales and a nice result.

Nothing about yesterday's games so tin hat firmly on.

1. Good to see Ireland get back to their winning ways. Another close game so the final match of the series could be a belter.
2. A workman-like performance from Wales who really did not have to go out of 2nd gear. The Pumas were quite disappointing and their coach was clearly livid.
3. Just what has happened to England ? Beating all before them for two seasons (apart from Ireland) and now the wheels of the chariot are really loose. Have they flattered to deceive due to the quality of the oppo or just going through a bad run that happens to all teams at some time. Did not see the incidents at the end(went back to the cricket) with players arguing with the crowd or walking out on tv interviews but neither bring credit to the game.

Petulant behavior from England, Farrell, who many will recall, I have questioned his temperament previously, spent so much time trying to tell the referee his job, that every decision which was in anyway marginal, would have gone against England, many of the England Players seemed more interested in pointing out the oppositions errors, than doing their own work. We were always taught to play to the whistle, not stand around waiting for it to blow!

England have two problems, huge ones, they have no leadership on the field, and they have this massive desire to recruit southern hemisphere rejects to the national team. The current players behaviour is like footballers, arrogant and self centred. I have always been proud of the warnth players show towards the supporters in our game, this bunch of tossers seem determined to destroy that in one fall swoop!

TBH I had not checked the USA/Scotland game when I posted earlier.

Would, however, agree with teaktop that Townsend gambled with a 2nd string 15 and only brought on more senior players when it was going pear-shaped.

Even so these are not games you want to lose since at the end of the day a loss is a loss even if it was by only one point and that final conversion would have won it.
