Youtube/Firefox
Hi
I have a problem, which for most of you is probably laughable, but for a computerilliterate like me,I have no clue. For some unknown reason, when I try to watch a clip in Youtube with Firefox, thereīs no image. The sound is on,and the clips are running as they should, but I canīt see anything. In Internet explorer it works fine. Iīve tried to find out if Iīve changed settings for the viewer, but I canīt find any reason why itīs not working. I tried to reup Adobeflashplayer, but it still donīt work. I can also watch videos on other sites,so it just seems to be watching Youtube in Firefox. Anyone have any clue what to do? Help will be much appreciated. |

YouTube have gone from playing Flash to HTML5 video recently. Perhaps that's caused the problem. You could try turning it back with this add-on: YouTube Flash Video Player

Do you have a Flash blocker add-on, or have click to play turned on in Firefox? If so, YT has been getting a little irritating (more so than usual) in recent months, during their conversion to HTML5 video, in terms of not playing Flash videos correctly in Firefox, if you don't whitelist them (which is crap, IMO, because I want the video to NOT auto play). Whitelisting them in my Flash blocker works for me. Other browsers, like Chrome & IE also have the auto play problem, but at least they play.
Another option is to use an alternative browser, like Opera, which requires a new version of Flash (relatively recent requirement), but then don't install that new version of Flash on your computer. Then install a YT video downloader add-on. Just download the videos you want to watch separately, and watch them on your own time, on your own terms, but that has its own inconveniences. |

I had trouble playing things in Firefox, such as BBC iplayer, ITV iplayer. Solved it by turning off Adblock Plus for those sites.

so, i also had some troubles with firefox and flash on youtube. html5 is no option for me, because videos load extremly slow.
so it takes a while, but in the end i updated my display-drivers and now it works again relatively fine for me. so, if you haven't updated your display-drivers yet, try this. it sounds a bit like a generic advice but afaik sound-drivers also are delivered by the display-drivers. and btw, it can't be bad to have up-to-date drivers
