Just thinking... for celeb type vids... non nude of course, why not just upload them to you tube
and post the link here to the celeb thread

instead of uploading to deposit files or whatever.

Its easy to download the you tube vids, esp with fire fox browser and now you seem to get very good quality downloads from you tube sometimes even HD quality .

I think I`m missing out here somewhere. I`ve been using Deposifiles to upload files since Rapidshare went difficult some time ago.
I chose them because I`d found really old links that were still live and thought
that may be a sign of stability/reliability at a time when some other hosts seemed be in question. All seems to have been fine so far but I`ve definitely never been offered payment from them, in fact I pay them a monthly fee for hosting the files I`ve uploaded.

I must be very naive as well as very lazy because I never bothered to read any of their bullshit. I just wanted a simple, straightforward host so that I could post stuff on here.

Now tell me, about these pennies.....:-)

Marginally off-topic, but could be useful:

I've got firefox and kaspersky and orbit downloader doesn't work with these. Does anyone know if there's another program that works in the same way as orbit that is compatible with FF and Kaspersky?

No. Because you generally need specialist software to download from Youtube. Most people like to save and store videos rather than stream them.

I use youtubedownloader you can get it free on cnet/downloads plus has an option to save vids in various formats.

Youtube in the past year has ramped up its copyright infringements like never before
trying to appease hollywood and other copyright heavy weights.

All those channels that rely on fair use are up in arms because its all very indiscriminate

A backlash like has happened to filehosts for accounts posting full versions
isnt far away I would suspect.

Youtube as a long term solution to filehosting not likely

They survived one 1 billion dollar law suit but their reaction to become more pro-active in removing content smells very much like the demise of prominent free filehosts.

Dailymotion would be a better bet if your going to go streaming
but neither can really offer any sort of anonymity for content
that the snoops want taken down.

Filehost links if you choose and use them wisely can remain active for far longer imho
