Quite true that no one would want to be called a wanker. That's why it would be so noble to entice a pornstar away from that lifestyle and provide her with a comfortable existence in a normal setting.

I very much go along with that. In fact, the degree of respect I have for particular women in the real world has very little correlation with how attractive I find them.

One thing that looking at those mags has done to me though is to push the bar of what I find sexually attractive so high that I find "real women" not attractive any more. In a roundabout way, that has contributed to my detachment of respect and attractiveness.

I was raised by a feminist, and am as vocal an advocate of equality and respect as I am able to be. I hate the way women are treated in modern porn, and the older I get, the more drawn I am to the slightly older stuff, with its wonderful variety of beautiful, imperfect, real women.

When i was young and I had my little stash of mags, the text that accompanied the pictures stressed how lovely the girls were, how lucky we were they shared their beauty with us, and gave them some (admittedly fictional) context as real people. Modern porn is rarely like that, despite the "empowerment" BS some people try to feed us.

My career as a consumer of porn started in the 60s, and the issue of respect was, quite frankly, not one that occurred to me. Then, as now, there is a part of my brain which responds to the visual aspect of a female human quite independent of her existence as a person - she is a sexual stimulus, no more, no less. I recognise that this can be argued as being disrespectful.

But I was brought up to be respectful, and i think women tend to be very much worth respecting - I despise physical (and verbal cruelty (especially in porn), calling women bitches and sluts (unless they like it and respond to it), ugly things like pulling at mouths and things. I like my porn to at least make an attempt to be respectful towards the female participants.

So I'm a hypocrite. But I do try not to be.

We should be so lucky to get to a date with such a beautiful woman. Many young ladies are gung ho into selling their bodies in such a way that they mock people in society that make less money in normal occupations.

There's a reason for that - Politicians fiddling expenses, Police lying over Hillsborough, murdering protestors in London. I still respect teachers though (difficult job, no thanks, low paid, etc.).

As for the general theme of this thread, "noticing" another human being is simply confirmation that you are alive and healthy. As long as you remember that these pictures as simply fantasies posed by attractive young women there should be no problem in relating to real women in the real world. Some porn is troubling though and some of the animated ads that pop up on links are rather disturbing IMO. Rape is not something I want to see even if posed by cartoons.
