My favourite quote from Tony Curtis
"I wouldn't be seen dead with a woman old enough to be my wife" Pretty much sums him up, IMO. He lived the dream. RIP

Tony Curtis was brilliant as the foil to Roger Moore in 'The Persuaders' in the 1970's. As Danny Wilde, the oil tycoon he and Lord Brett Sinclair(Moore) would solve problems and put things to rights as troubleshooters for The Judge(Lawrence Naismith) and usually fight over a woman. I always thought it would make a good film or even a remake with them in cameo roles-alas this can't happen now.

Arthur Penn RIP
Director of Bonnie and Clyde, Missouri Breaks and Night Moves ( features Melanie Griffiths swimming nude, so obviously my favourite).

Years ago, my older sister had a VCR that could play tapes backwards at normal speed. The pie fight from "The Great Race" is 10x funnier in reverse. |
