If this forum accepted voluntary donations from members , would you donate ?

Wondered this for awhile and just wanted to put that hypothetical out there to see how many might be prepared to toss a few coins this forums way, not only as a small show of appreciation but also to help alleviate financial costs and aid current technical limitations .Because personally speaking i believe this is the premier forum on the web ,and would hate it to fall for want of an extra farthing for the sake a few new screen wipes etc

By the way this isn`t the prelude to something so don`t go soiling your underwear or anything ok , it`s merely a hypo .......... For now

I don't think its any secret that this forum is having 1 or 2 issues at the moment and the way some people are reacting you'd think we paid a fortune to visit this place

I for 1 would happily donate to this place to try a keep it up to the standards we all perhaps take for granted

Of course triple that number have decided not to take part despite clicking here ,but then that`s to be expected as i`m sure they didn`t understand the premise and thought they`d be committing themselves to a financial burden or something ?.

Then again we know other people are strange .Like the way many don`t appreciate that forum rules are actually there for survival reasons , not as judgmental censorships from up on high and so complain accordingly.

Not because I don't care about the place - I love it here. This is a fine community.

Greenskull, I do understand that this thread is as you said, hypothetical, but I would never pay for this place - simply because I feel I already 'pay' (and I have no problem with that) is the sense that I take an active part in this forum & I have uploaded stuff to be shared with others.

Most of those 'others' don't even have the decency to hit the 'thanks' button.

Then there are the mods, who do a thankless job keeping the place 'clean' - why should they pay?

No one who takes an active part in this forum should vote 'yes' - even if they feel it is morally right to do so.

Am I making myself clear, here? - I'm a bit stoned ... again ...

You make some good points,however I do feel that some peoples reaction to the current slowness of this forum is a disgrace.I do feel I've contributed where I could but I don't consider this anything other than playing an active part in this forum,I have benefitted far more from this forum than all the other forum/websites I've used at what must run into a small fortune now........so would I pay?.....in a second.

Well I'm happy to see that everybody is willing to pay for the forum, but in the mean time we moderators & admins will do our best to keep the VEF free for you members.

It's good to see some thing are still free, but if it came to the crunch and the forum was in trouble, i know i would help out as it give a lot of entertainment for most of us i guess

Hey if you want to go down that track then we all pay through spending our valuable time here !

Maybe i haven`t phrased any of it right so far , but this thread isn`t about whether any of us should pay money to be a member (Does nobody get my sub plots anymore ?) .Which in answer to your question (If you`re mistakenly taking any of this seriously) is something Moderators wouldn`t have to do, as in that bizzaro unlegislated forum world they`d obviously be on a remuneration package themselves (Although don`t ask me to explain how that`d work as life`s too short, plus right now i`m busy looking for a sturdy roof beam and a length of strong rope ).
Who knows it might just be the herbs you took talking but i take slight offense at your promotion of a negative vote , especially as it cuts away somewhat the momentum of my limp plan. That is to get as many members as possible clicking the sponsors site, so increasing his hits and satisfaction and willingness to dig a bit deeper when the next contract talks roll around.

So i`d urge everyone who has yet to vote to think about what value this place holds for them, i mean it`s FREE photos and Vids of naaakiiiiiid women for Saint Lubes sake !.

Surely you would , so go and do so by visiting said sponsor it won`t cost you anything and the more hit`s he has the more money he can make (Won`t go into how now though as i`ve tied the noose and it looks damn inviting) .

i would pay to use this forum. i agree its one of the best on the web, but it is having issues at the moment with pages loading very slowly, heres some hypothetical figures for you. there are nearly 100,000 members of this forum. if only 10% of us paid a pound (or equivalent per month) then the people who maintain this site would receive 120,000 pounds (or equivalent) per year to look after, maintain and upgrade the servers for this forum.

by the way, this forum is still running very very slowly here in england. i hope this is sorted soon and whoever does sort out the speed issue we should all give them a big thank you.
