Smile I'm becoming a miserable ole ffwrch

The physical items I own are just 'things' I wouldn't miss.

The intangibles are more precious, but I become increasingly cynical of them as time progresses.

My most prized possessions are my library of 673 Classical music discs. Most of them are in the Baroque Period ( 1600 a.d.-1750 a.d. ). A great deal of my discs are no longer available, even online. One of the greatest parts of this library is my complete collection of Domenico Scarlatti's 666 Harpsichord Sonatas on 33 discs. Also making up a great deal of this library are very rare discs of very rare and little known composers from the Baroque period.

With me, it's the watch itself. My pocket watch was my maternal grandfather's, who died six years before I was born. I had it repaired and polished at a jeweler's a couple of years ago and it cost more than the watch is monitarily worth. To me it's priceless.

My vacation house. Love the house, love the location, love the story behind it. Even if it gets blown away this year, I'll cherish the memories.

(Don't deem my loved ones a "possession," but I cherish them most of all).

I don't really invest much feeling into 'things'. The one 'thing' I do use every day and have done so for 30+ years is my keyring. Actually, it is a brass, trigger snap shackle (used on boats for attaching a sail to a halyard (rope/line) for raising the sail). It is very plain, but there is a comfort to feeling its weight in my pocket.

My most prized possesion, I suppose, is my ability to remember. To return in my mind to any event in time and space past is a supreme delight. Forgetting your life seems, to me, to be a very cruel trick that certain medical conditions bring about.

A full sized replica of Ned Kelly's armour that the kids bought me for my fiftieth birthday. How he walked around in it is beyond me.
