Well this is very true with me.

But then again, there's so much randomness in the universe you never know when something cool will actually happen to you absent of any negative consequences.

Doesn't stop me from trying.

Showed a flat to let yesterday and, in the course of the viewing, discovered that the door to the Juliet balcony was unlocked and slightly open.

Policy is to leave a flat as you find it unless landlord has left specific instructions or security is compromised. I tried to phone the landlord to see if he'd left it deliberately but no reply. So, quite sensibly, I locked the door and left the place secure.

The landlord later phoned to moan that I'd left the place unventilated!

I explained that I was doing what I thought was best, but he got arsey and said he would dis-instruct us. I then told him I'd got an offer at the full asking price but if he'd like to turn it down, fair enough.

The sound of braking and reverse gears never sounded so sweet.
