It looked good but it wasn't.

I meant to make a comparison with this with another spy comedy, which was a lot funnier back in the early 70s that Sir David was in. I doubt anyone will remember it but stuck in my mind and came to the fore when I saw him in this. I recall a London Weekend Television comedy he was in called 'The Top Secret Life of Edgar Briggs' 1974

I find it odd that Coach wasn't on anyones list.
True, some of the episodes were a little lame as any sitcom will have it's share.
However, Coach consistantly had me laughing the hardest. There was always a great gut buster either in the opening or ending scene that didn't have anything at all to do with that episode's main subject. It was a great hook that had me tuning in every week. You never knew if the gut buster was going to be at the beginning or the end.
There were also plenty of seriously heart attack inducing episodes that had me litterally on the floor. I seriously thought I was going to laugh myself to death during the episode Haden and Luther got stuck up in the fire watch tower. Another one was the spackled wedding dress episode. I could go on and on.
I guess everyone laughed so hard and suffered brain damage that they forgot about Coach.

Oh, one episode was so funny (the one where Haden had the snoring problem) that it was mentioned on the local news channel. All throughout the news broadcast, they kept busting into giggles. It's darkly funny when your local news lady is reporting a deadly car accident while noticably trying to stifle her laughter. At the end of the news broadcast, the anchors apologized to the viewers and explained about that night's episode of Coach.

Instead of a list here are the two that stuck fast in my memory for different reasons
Need more episodes of:-
Nathan Barley (the rise of the idiot) good piss-take of what is hip and happening

should never have been written/comissioned/made
My dead Dad :- the only reason I can thik for this being shown is as a poison chalice from a program comissioner as a legacy to whoever got his job after he was let go

I won't comment on "funny" and "unfunniest" comedies, but I will say I'm absolutely bewildered by the success of "Three And A Half Men".
