I guess where this leads is: what is a provisional id? I can understand the meaning/sense of the term linguistically, but is it anything if (as in that case) it's assigned without any visible evidence (not casting any doubt on the member involved), and is it anything if it can't be used for anything--e.g. thread-wise, i.e. used on/for vef. Does it then simply mean: "maybe"?

ID exists presently, may be changed later.

Either waiting for further information/evidence, confirmation or a period of time to elapse before upgrading. It'll probably move to Solved - Best Name Available but do not quote me.

Think of it like Bon Jovi. We're halfway there.

It's also a good marker for people to search for and revisit. Hence provisional.

In this example we have a name but nothing that backs it up concretely. It's been around for five months, so we'll revisit it accordingly or when new evidence is supplied

Does anyone else have copies of the CeeCee model/shoot listing scans made by icu & posted here? Just two scans are now missing, 15 & 69, and I foolishly didn't think to download them all until just now. icu hasn't logged in since 2015-06-18.

Just as a general approach I think this is very dangerous/risky. I don't have the original image and can't even recall it. My reservations, however, are not about that specific instance but rather the way of thinking behind it. Given how over-loaded with possible meanings the thanks button is, it seems pretty foolhardy.

Imagebam appears to be having problems today (Saturday, May 20), with many images refusing to load when thumbnails are clicked.

This makes it almost impossible to adjudicate solves, so decisions may be delayed for a few hours. Please stand by . . .

It was also indicated to be solved by another moderator, which is another reason it was marked as solved. Unless the images are restored, we can either dump the thread or solve it based off the information we have.

Also, we're solving ID requests here. It's not dangerous or risky.
