I had bird spiders in my youth too. I love spiders - they are fascinating animals. BTW, most bird spiders are pretty harmless to humans - unless you get an allergic reaction after the spider bite. But even a bee sting can be deadly serious if you are allergic against this type of poisons. That's the reason why your doc should check your poison sensibility (it's just a harmless allergy test) before you buy a Bird Spider. Generally Bird Spiders are indulgent. And yes, you can even cuddle with them. But please be careful - Bird Spiders are no Labrador Retrievers!
But especially some of those very fast tree-dwelling Spider species can get rather aggressive. This type should be better stay in its terrarium. It was always funny to watch those old trashy Spider Horror movies and recognized the alleged 'deadly spider type' as the harmless buddy that rested on your arm while you had a look at the film. |
