Interestingly in light of the previous post about that knobhead of a senior Policeman Anthony Bangham's ludicrous idea about criminalising people who drive even 1mph above the speed limit.

Police chief's U-turn over speed blitz after he admits plans to punish drivers who are 1mph over the limit would not be achievable

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...clampdown.html

Anthony Bangham admitted the proposal would not be ‘proportionate or achievable’. He said he never advocated a draconian nationwide crackdown and wanted to ‘clear up the misunderstanding’.

Er actually you did you lying numpty “They should not come whingeing to us about getting caught. If booked at 35, 34 or 33 in a 30mph zone, that cannot be unfair because they are breaking the law.”

As a senior cop he should have made sure his brain was fully engaged before coming out with such total bollocks in the first place. There are far too many variables, should I get fined for driving at 21-25 mph in a 20mph area at 3am when no one else is about? How would they cope with the expected increase in appeals to have the police machines checked, how often would they be recalibrated, what if your car's speedometer was slightly out?

Interestingly on the way home this morning on a long 40mph single carriageway road (it used to be a 60mph dual carriageway until 3 months ago) a cop car was behind me as I exited off the roundabout, I drove at about 40mph some of the way and I could see they were getting closer so I dropped down to 38mph the rest of the way as I reached my turn off and indicated they put their foot down and shot right past me

https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/reque...aught_speeding

Since January 2014, 119 marked or unmarked police vehicles from
Northumbria and other force areas are recorded as having activated speed
cameras within the Northumbria Police area. Please note that these figures
relate to police officers and potentially police staff.
Of the 119,
70 have been cancelled due to operation requirements
12 have paid the fine and accepted points
20 have attended a speed awareness course

When caught by in car camera's/hand held devices ask to see the calibration certficate for the device. If they can't produce one in date then you can wish them good health and drive on. Copper told me that.

Cool

Just kill em. Any fundamentalist Islamic terrorosits that kill people should just be publicly executed. They have their choice: hanging, guillotine, firing squad, lethal gas, being pulled apart by horses, electrocution, being set on fire, tied to a railroad track before train comes, drowned, etc!

That's just cruel, in Britain they are more likely to die of exposure to the cold before any train arrives

That's not true, Rupert

It's the European Convention on Human Rights -- the one that May apparently so hates -- that forbids the death penalty, and it has nothing to do with the EU

However, being a signatory to ECHR is a condition for being in the EU. No prizes for guessing why your anti-EU propaganda-media would mislead you in this way, or why you'd believe them

Least we'd give them a trial first Palo. Bit different from a cup of tea in a central London hotel.

Sure you would. That's why you helped the rendition program. Do me a favor, Harold

Well, I know you're not geographically relevant to ECHR, but Australia's continuing record of human rights love-ins is well-known world-wide, my friend. It started from day 1 and never stopped. Almost every day a new headline

the rendition program was naive, but sadly something we felt we had to agree to. Most of us feel guilt for our country being involved in it. But we did not massacre those sent home! It is not May or the politicians who hate the ECHR, it is most free speaking Brits! Ask the ordinary man in the street!

Preaching human rights as a Russian is err bizarre!
