Going to bed. By the time I get up, the crucial Panthers/Vikings game will be over.
Not just that. But while I'm asleep. My team in the premier league, Everton, will be playing in the Merseyside derby against Liverpool. Both my teams in massive games. I hope it's a rare case of being 2-0 overnight! |

Mistakes in Selection Process
Quote:
The story was leaked by a decorated army officer in the belief that the star QB's "documented honor code and behavior violations, negative observation reports, and below-average performance shows he does not have the integrity to lead men and women into potential combat or wear the uniform of a U.S. Army officer." Then there is the case of recently graduated 2nd Lt. Spenser Rapone, an avowed communist and West Point graduate who posted photos online showing him touting his belief system at his graduation ceremony. |

Mixed Emotions & How I Really Feel
The 49ers win means I already have 4 missed picks this week. It also means that the team that has commanded my loyalty since 1957 is not hopeless anymore and can be watched. As the saying goes "It is like watching your mother-in-law drive your new Mercedes over a cliff."
On the other hand, the Raiders are circling the drain. I feel bad for Jack Del Rio (his mom is a really nice lady, BTW) and the players, but F**K MARK DAVIS!!! He can suck Goodell's dick and kiss my ass. |

Well, Brian, you and will are tied at 10-5 going into MNF and we all picked the Patriots, so it's down to points.
I had to give up my Bills' season tickets seven years ago and I still miss going to the games. Except on a day like yesterday. In all my more than 50 years of watching live football and footage from bygone era, the only thing that looks like what I saw yesterday in Orchard Park was film of the 1948 NFL Championship Game in Philadelphia that was played in a snowstorm. Here's the highlights of the Colts/Bills game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4-I...Wbc9nu1Czs2SM5 Here's film of the 1948 title game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBdWxHGRqEY BTW, I live in North Buffalo, one block from the city line. Given the traffic, it takes roughly 30-40 minutes to get from my house to New Era Field. The stadium got a foot of snow, while I got a dusting. Well, that's what happens when you build the stadium in the heart of the Snow Belt. A few years back after the November storm, the Bills/Jets game had to be moved to Detroit because the stadium was blanketed in seven feet of snow.

I know there have been other games in my lifetime where they had to clear the snow from the yard markers. Buffalo, Cleveland, Chicago, Green Bay, Denver, and Detroit and Minnesota in the old days were always at risk for Snow Bowls in December and January. If I understand the weather forecasts we may have opportunities for encores this season. Do you think the Dolphins are charged up for next week's visit?
What a treat for the boys in Miami. They get to play New England on Monday night this week , which will most likely be an embarrassing loss. Next week, it's on to Buffalo to play a Bills team trying to hold on to the last playoff slot. It is going to be tough for the Bills. They hold the tie break over the Ravens and Chargers, but have to play in Foxboro and Miami after hosting the Dolphins. Meanwhile, Baltimore finishes with the Browns, Colts, and Bengals. |
