Default PMOY Missed Picks

Anyone else think Hef and the rest ever made a mistake and picked the wrong gal for PMOY? I think Julie Peterson (FEB 87) and Morgan Fox (DEC 90) should have been PMOY's in their respective years. Anyone else? Others?

Shannon Tweed has a career in the movies, but she was way down on the list for that year. Karen Price, Debbie Boostrom, and Patricia Farinelli would all have been better choices.

Agreed. Heidi Sorenson probably was a better pick as well IMHO. 1982 Cathy St. George and Kim McArthur could have been picked as well, but Marianne Gravette was very beautiful.

Gianna Amore in 1989 is the one for me and Tawnni Cable would be one if she was in any other year than 1989.

To be honest, the only PMOY choice I have ever agreed with since 1978 was Claire Sinclair in 2011. Maybe I'm not their target audience.

Funny I very rarely agree with Playmate of the Year either. Donna Edmondson in 1986 is honestly the last time when a PMOY was chosen that I honestly could not make a case for someone else.

That being said, Lisa Matthews in 1990 was amazing and I could not argue that she should not be PMOY, although I might have gone with Jacqueline Sheen if push came to shove.

Raquel Pomplun was a fine choice in 2013 and I was fine with Claire Sinclair in 2011, although I might have been okay with one or two others as well.

That being said, since the mid 80s over 75 percent of the time the Playmate of the Year was someone not in my top three for that year.

Going back a bit.......I always wondered why Ellen Stratton was selected as the first "official" PMOY for 1960 over others including my lifelong favorite, the bounteous Elaine Reynolds.

I recall reading that Terri Weigel complained that she was the popular choice for PMOY 86, but Hefner wanted to taunt all the religious right/evangelical Christians that hated him. So he gave PMOY 86 to Donna Edmondson, who said she was a good Christian girl. So said Terri.

At least Donna smiled once in a while...Terri never did.

Yes, Mansion West was just chock full of good Christian girls in the 80s'
