Ransomeware virus
I am afraid that so many downloads accessible this site are so beset with ransomeware virus crap that its too risky to use anymore. A total block of ones computer is just around the corner......

I've never had any "site not safe" or any similar problem on VEF, and I've got my Firefox settings enabled to block those sites reported as dangerous. Only add-on I use is Adblock Plus, it keeps me safe but this whole thing has nothing to do with that, as it's the browser itself that checks if a site has been labeled as unsafe, add-ons have nothing to do with that.
So I'm intrigued on why some forum members get the warning and some others don't.  I know the ads are there to help with site costs, but as those ads are run by 3rd parties sometimes of doubtful origin and other times purposedly come with malicious scripts (always managed by those 3rd parties, VEF has nothing to do with that), the risk of being labeled as an attack site or an infected site is high. I'm wondering if those ads actually give any income to help paying the bills... if they do, it means people are clicking on them... even when at least half of those ads come with malicious scripts. Ah yeah, the internet porn logic.  Anyways, good that it's been fixed.
