As expected Australia dont make anywhere near enough
From 4/299 to all out 451 is very much like the English did and it proved never enough 1st IND 4/317 - Kohli 5 innings 5 easy outs - maybe time to remain silent and just bat Rahul 67 Vijay 82 Pujara 112no Cummins 3/49 (I humbly bow to the selectors unless he breaks down ) 62 overs of spin for 1 wicket is a world away from 6/6/8 for not much Maybe Australia needs to use its 2 batsmen that bowl leggies edit - Hazelwood bowls Nair for 20 - 5/320 stumps 6/360 Pujara 130no http://live.cricket.com.au/#/1959/41028/overview Last edited by buttsie; March 18th, 2017 at 09:29 PM.. Aust now getting deserate.
Yesterday they were talking about Aust having a good lead after the 1st innings and putting pressure on India batting last. Now India 471-6 leading by 20. Those world class spinners who England will have no chance of being able to play: O'Keefe 151-1 Lyon 126-0 Michael Clarke and Brett Lee keep saying Aust should be trying their part-time bowlers: Maxwell. Smith, Warner, even the wickie Wade Might be an idea because they are bowling Cummins into the ground, previously only 10 first class matches, has now bowled 35 overs at over 140 km/hr. With India v Australia being the big matchup, it is easy to miss Bangladesh's first win away from home. In their 100th test too. Set a potentially tricky 191 by Sri Lanka, they saw it through with four wickets to spare.
As for India v Oz, can we see an Aussie batting collapse tomorrow?

To have 1000+ runs after both first innings isn't great cricket to watch.

Jadeja's career is somewhat interesting to say the least, probably the complete opposite Steve Smith I might add. I believe he came into the Indian side as a batsman who scored three triple centuries in domestic cricket only to turn into a bowler who can bat a bit and an excellent fielder. I would pick him over any spinner in the world at the moment.
That said, Day 4 was incredibly frustrating to watch. I think it's fair to say that Pujara bored the Australians out of the match, possibly out of the series. A blockathon is feasible if they didn't have so many left handers but we'll see how it goes. |

I'm afraid to say that Steve Smith is a plodder as a captain. Maxwell was used for 4 overs out of 210 overs bowled with the rest completed by the 4 specialist bowlers. A bit of variety might have brought a wicket. Even himself or Warner could have bowled. Australia 83-4 at lunch still 69 behind. Cannot see them escaping for a draw. They seemed to have learnt zilch from England's experience a few months before.
