Sad to report the passing of John Hampshire, Yorkshire and England batsman, 5 time Championship winner and current Yorkshire CCC President at the age of 76. Excellent player and thoroughly nice bloke. RIP.

Preparation reaps the rewards - ICC Global Academy in Dubai

In many ways it was surprising that Australia waited until 2017 to add a Dubai leg to their planning for an Asian tour. There has always been a strong Antipodean link to the precinct, dating back to Marsh's involvement right from the start as the academy's first director of coaching. In that role he had helped oversee the creation of arguably the most expansive and comprehensive cricket training facility ever devised, taking in more than 30 outdoor pitches with soil taken from across the globe - 12 from Pakistan, 12 from Australia and four from England, plus 10 synthetic or "hybrid" surfaces.

Default India back with a vengeance

Australia fought through a hard 2nd day to 6/237

All out for 276 - R.A. Jadeja 6/63

2nd IND 4/213 Pujara 79no Rahane 40no Hazlewood 3/57

India lead by 126 runs end of day 3

Why Starc & Hazelwood have bowled more than Lyon / O'keefe is beyond me?

As I speak O'keefe comes on and immediately has Rahul out for 51 - 2/83

Who'd be a commentator - make a prediction based on spinners taking 6 , 6 , 8 wickets in 3 innings so far and a quick turns up with 3 for in the 4th innings

The India vs Aust is very good to watch at the moment...tho it's an early start.
Could go either way after 3 days with the wicket seeming to be getting easier for batting.

Australian chasing a challenging total in the 4th innings of 189 on a pitch which while not quite a minefield is doing stuff you'd not expect on a day 4 pitch

4/90 of 24 overs - top 4 all out

If they win from here with a pitch showing variable bounce it will be a minor miracle

I thought Australia played well, despite the collapse.

Default India v Australia 3rd Test Day 1, 16 - 20 March 2017

A decent start but nothing more given what India have done in the recent past to teams scoring big in the first innings.

1st AUS 4/299 Smith 117no Maxwell 82no

Maxwell to number 6 should have always been ahead of Mitch Marsh
who couldnt buy a run at test level

http://live.cricket.com.au/#/1959/41028/overview

You really dont want to get picked as the 12th man for Australia as who ever it is rarely ever replaces an injured player and more often than not just gets dropped back to shield cricket.

Will the big gamble pay off

A do or die test with no back-up quick now Mitch Marsh is out injured and the selectors gamble on 23 year old Patrick Cummins who has not played a test since 2011 & only
completed 1 4 day match recently but otherwise keeps breaking down when the load gets too much.

Sounds like a recipe for disaster if Indias batting line-up discover their lost form

Back to a flat pitch in India. Aust 451, India 120-1 already looking like a draw. However we thought that in the England games

Aust have to get India out for less than about 550, i reckon,.
